I am ecstatic to say that I found Julie!!! It didn't take as long as anticipated (6 months!), and I got EXTREMELY lucky- she's beautiful, nice, funny, and we look alike! My "new" family is great- I couldn't have asked for a better situation! It turns out that they had been looking for me too...we will all agree, this is the beginning of a great new life!

To tell you a little about myself, my name is Amanda and I was born Randi Lee on October 21, 1981 in St. Joseph's Hospital, Providence. I began the search for my birth mother, Julie, shortly after my 18th birthday, and even though I have already had many starts and stops on this journey, they have all turned out to be learning experiences for me. I have decided to never give up on my search for Julie, because I'm determined to find her someday.
The reason why I created this webpage is because through my search, I have learned that as an adoptee, you have almost no rights at all, and RI law only allows for a "mutual consent" registry when you are at least 21 years of age. The whole thing just angers me, and I felt that I had to do something. If anyone has any ideas on how to try and change these outdated laws, or if you have any info on my adoption, OR even if you just want to talk about anything, please email me anytime.
