January Goddess Feasts

1-- Nanshe. Babylonian Water Goddess. Celebrated with a flotilla -- aquatic procession while worship and reveling carry on. She is wise, an interpreter of dreams and omens. On New Year's Day, she judges each person's activities of the preceding year.
5-- Befana. Italian folk legend. "Lady of the twelfth night" -- an image of an old woman, usually made of rags, is hung outside the home to witness the passing of winter's darkness.
11-15-- Carmenta. Roman goddess of Midwifery and Prophecy. She appears to help in labor and tell the fortune of the newborn.
