August Goddess Feasts

15-- Diana. Italian and Roman. Queen of the open sky, Diana was worshipped only out-of-doors. She was probably the sun as well as the moon, because the Italians had no sun god. She ruled on earth as the bestower of sovreignty and granter of conception -- therefore she was a threefold goddess. Diana lost most of her myth when she was combined and assimilated with the Greek Artemis.
25-- Ops. Ancient Roman goddess of the harvests and the opulence of earth's fruiting. She's worshipped in harvest festivals in August and December. She was later identified with Rhea.
