FORM Vocal Jazz Ensemble consists of thirteen high school and college age students who enjoy a challenging repetoire of different jazz styles. Now in it's sixth season, the choir has gained a reputation as one of the strongest vocal jazz programs in Western Canada, and for the last 5 years, FORM has been featured in a cabaret at the Canadian Airlines Rocky Mountain Festival. This year the jazz choirs enjoyed three showcase concerts shared with D.W. Poppy Senior Jazz Band. FORM then embarked on a tour to B.C. with performances in Vernon, Langley, and Vancouver.

Last January, FORM took part in the IAJE (International Association of Jazz Educators) Conference held in New York City . We were priviledged enough to see many great performances (including Wynton Marsalis and the New York Voices) and then we performed in our own concert that got very positive feedback from all who attended. The highlight of the trip however was the opportunity to do a workshop with all 4 of the New York Voices for 2 hours! What a life changing experience! I'm sure all the members will agree. Also, FORM was given an invitation to attend the Montraux Jazz Festival held in Switzerland last July! This invitation was a great honor! Past performances included the Alberta Music Conference, where FORM was a demonstration choir for a workshop with Michelle Weir and most recently Jennifer Shelton, and the Columbian Choirs' Christmas Concert, and our final concert held at the Heritage Ampitheatre. Two years ago FORM travelled to Ontario to take part in the Ontario Vocal Festival where they were priviledged to work with Greg Jasperse, Keith Power, and Trish Coulter, and in the summer, FORM was featured in a concert for the ISME (International Society of Music Educators)2000 Conference held in Edmonton in July.
