Lonestar is a film that I saw recently that really impressed me. It was given to me by a friend who had to watch it for a class so I gave it a try. The film is about several things, but I think that the easiest way to describe it is that it is about a small border town in Texas. The story is told similarly to films like Pulp Fiction with several characters such as a sheriff, a teacher, and other town folk being parts of different stories that end up connecting at one point or another. The movie is based around things such as crime, politics, and relationships, but defies being labeled as either a crime, political, or relationship movie. Besides the stories that come together, the story is also told through flashbacks about a vicious sheriff played excellently by Kris Kristofferson. I definitely suggest this movie.
