To raise funds for living necessities I will need when I volunteer to help communities across Canada.
Katimavik means 'meeting place' in the Inuktitut language.
I get to explore three regions of Canada for nine months with ten other people between the ages 17-21 years old from all parts of the country with different cultural backgrounds.
Working as a volunteer on community projects, learning various skills such as training and leadership, second official language, environment, cultural discovery and health lifestyle.
The Katimavik program has helped many people find meaning and the confidence to move forward in life. It will give direction to those who participate in their career path and further their education.
Examples of what I would be expected to do:
Work in community, radio or television stations, museums, food banks
Participate in website development, restore historic landmarks
