Turkey
Chili
- Canola oil
- 2 lbs ground turkey
- 1 green pepper,
chopped
- 1 large onion,
chopped
- dash of accent,
optional
- dash of garlic
powder
- salt and pepper to
taste
- 1 large can tomatoes
in puree, (28 oz)
- 1 1/2 cans tomato
sauce (8 oz)
- 1 or 2 cans kidney
beans, drained (16 oz)
- 1/4 c of beer
- 2 to 4 tblsp of
honey or brown sugar, or to taste
- 2 packets commercial
chili mix
- dash of cayenne
pepper, to taste
- grated cheese
Directions:
Heat oil in a large pot.
Brown ground turkey. Add remaining ingredients and simmer for 1
1/2 hours or more.
Can also be cooked in the
crock pot, after the ground turkey has been browned.
Top with grated cheese
(Mozzarella, cheddar, or Monterrey Jack), sour cream, oyster
crackers, chopped onions, taco chips, etc.
