Description (details & conditions):

This is one of our personal cars that my wife and I have had for almost 5 years. We named this car the "RED BARON" and as you can see we've added some Red Baron theme items to the car..."Air Brushing" to the back trunk lid and custom door panels. This might not be for everyone, but we have fun with it. The painting on the trunk is quite removeable if you wish to do it. We have also installed an "awesome" sound system in the '55 Classic.

We are considering selling this car if it goes to a good home and someone is willing to pay $14,000.00 for it.
This '55 Chevy Classic was restored quite extensively just before we purchased it. Some sheet metal was replaced in the floors, and I'm sure in other areas too. This is not a show car, but it is a very sharp looking car and it gets lots of looks. I would drive this car ANYWHERE. It's very sound mechanically. We have maybe put 4000 miles on the car since we have had it. Please Read On for a detailed description of the "Red Baron"

BODY...The body is very nice. It has No noticeable dents or creases anywhere. As you are sitting in the car, you can see a couple of very tiny dents on the top of the front fender. VERY MINOR!

PAINT...The paint was put on about 7 years ago, and it still looks great. The clear coat finish shines very nice. Drive down the street with this Classic and YOU WILL GET NOTICED!

CHROME/STAINLESS...The stianless steel is in very good shape. There is a minor scratch or ding in a couple of spots. The chrome trim is probably the Worst part of this car. There has been a New trunk emblem, and new parking light bezels installed. The hood bird, headlight bezels, and taillight bezels have some minor pitting. The grille bar has some serious pitting. I just never took the time to replace these pieces. I just took on a Classic Tri-5 Danchuk Dealership, and have many of these parts in stock now. I will put these parts on if we do not sell the car. If I put them on now, I will raise the price of the car up.

BUMPERS...The bumpers are very good. The front bumper has a couple of very small scratches in it. The rear bumper is close to show quality.

GLASS...All the glass is in excellent condition.

WEATHERSTRIPPING...All the weatherstripping is like new and functions well..

RUST....There is just the slightesy appearance of paint starting to bubble on the front edge of the doors at the bottom. There is some rust in the trunk rail, that was not fixed during the restoration. It's very minor though.

ENGINE...The 350 c.i. engine is very sound, starts, and runs great. There is a mild CAM in it, and it has a nice rumble to it. This '55 is very FAST, and has lots of acceleration. We installed a new altenator, and almost every part in the distributor just this last summer. The Interstate battery is 2 years old.

CARBURATOR...There was a new Edelbrock 4-bbl carb installed before we purchased the car.

TRANSMISSION...The transmission works great, but if you leave it set for a few months, the transmission fluid will leak out...just like all the Turbo Tranmissions do. The is a slight linkage problem with this car, and I have the exact same problem on my '55 Nomad. If your interested I will visit with you about this.

TIRES...The New Radial tires were put on just shortly after we purchased the car. There are 70R15's on the front and 60R15's on the back.

WHEELS/HUBCAPS...The Classic Cragar Mags were put on with the new tires. We put 6" wide wheels on the front and 7" wide wheels on the back.

INTERIOR...The interir is very nice over-all. It's done in black vinyl. The door panels were not done when we bought the car. We had custom door panels made with Snoopy and the Red Baron embroidered on the front door panels.

SEATS...The black ribbed vinyl seat are very good, but there are a couple of small tears under the front seat.

HEADLINER...The black vinyl haedliner was installed the day before we picked the car up. The windlace was not installed.

CARPET...The black carpet is very nice. There is one problem behind the drivers seat. A loop is pulled up and loose.

DASH...The dash was media-blasted, and painted black. We still get a little sand coming out of the heater vent when you drive the car. It seems that that sand hides everywhere. The dash does look very good, and the CD player was mount very nicely, without disturbing the original looks of the '55 Dash. We put a New Custom Grant Steering wheel on 2 years ago.

INSTRUMENT PANEL...The instrument panel looks very original, and is in very good condtion.

INSTRUMENTS...There is a short in the headlights, which I will have fixed. The turn signal lights work, as well as most of the other instruments. The horn does not work. The vacumn wipers work as good as they did when they were new..ha ha. work

RADIO...One of the highlights of our additions to this car was the Audio Sound system. We had installed a Remote Controlled Alpine CD player, 2) 6" speakers in the front doors, 2) 6" x 9" speakers on the rear shelf, and a 10" subwoofer in the trunk. The sub has a port that comes up through the rear shelf, for superb sound. We had a 150 watt Orion amp custom installed under the rear shelf. The sound system makes the 50's and 60's music sound AWESOME!

FRAME...Very solid with no rust. It was repainted.

TRUNK...The trunk was painted with a textured paint...it looks very nice. As you can see, we custom installed a speaker and an Amp under the rear package shelf in the trunk.

UNDERCARRIAGE...The undercarriage is in very, very good condituon. All of the rust was repaired and there is almost none visible. Looks very good for not having a frame-off restoration.
