Description (details & conditions):

Here is a very good Original "BelAir 2-Door Sedan" that would make a great restoration project. It does not run or drive. There is no motor, but the exterior and interior are all original and complete. The car was built in Kansas, and it came out of Texas.

BODY...The body is very straight, has no dents, and has just a couple of spots of rust. There is a little rust under the windshield on the right side, an 1 1/2" x 3" rust hole on the right rear of the roof, and a few rust bubbles on the foot of the left front fender. The areas above the headlights are in great condition. The door bottoms are very solid and have no rust holes. There are visible signs of body filler on the car.

PAINT...The paint is not good at all. There are many large paint chips, and the paint is old and faded.

CHROME/STAINLESS...Some of the pot metal bezels are pitted, while others are good. All of the stainless steel is intact and in excellent condition. Only, the right door spear has some denting.

BUMPERS...Both bumbers would make good CORES to be re-chromed. There are a few small dents and some surface rust.

GLASS...The windshield, both door side glass, and the right rear side glass are all cracked. The left rear side glass and rear window are good.

WEATHERSTRIPPING...The door and trunk weatherstrip is badly cracked and worn!

ENGINE...There is a Chevy small block "block" only in the car. There is no intake, distributor, or water pump. There is an original gas tank under the car.

CARBURATOR...There is none.

TRANSMISSION...There is an automatic tranmission in the car. A friend of mine said that the Power Glide transmission may be a '58-'60 year model. He did not think it was a '55 model. (He knows more about trannys than I do)

EXHAUST...There is a complete exhaust system on the car. There is surface rust on the muffler and pipes.

BRAKES...I think the brakes would work. There is a dual master cylinder and proportioning valve on the car. The emergency brake does not seem to be hooked up.

TIRES...The General Radial 15" tires are in fair condition.

WHEELS/HUBCAPS...Th 15" Cragar chrome wheels are rusted badly. Each of the rear wheel hubs are missing 2 lug stud bolts.

INTERIOR...The original interior is all complete, but in pretty bad shape.

SEATS...The front seat has a seat cover, but still has the original seat cover under it. It is worn very bad and need restoration. The back seat does not have it's original cover. The replacement cover is gone on the seat.

DOOR PANELS...The original door panels are intact, but the fabric is torn and stained. All of the original door pulls are there.

WINDOW OPERATION...All windows operate very good. They need to be restored but, all of the parts are there.

HEADLINER...The headliner has been replaced, but it is sagging and has many wrinkles. There are no holes in the haedliner.

CARPET...The aftermarket carpet is bad.

DASH....The original dash is in very good condition. The vertical heater controls are broken or missing. There is no glove box and the glove box door needs to be re-hung.

INSTRUMENTS/ELECTRICAL...Sorry, but since this car does not run, I have not checked out any electrical features on this car. Everything looks to be in place to work.

RADIO...There is no radio in this car. The original opening has been lengthened a little.

TRUNK...The trunk is very solid. The trunk rail and shock mount area are in very good condition. There is some heavier surface rust on the floor's left side. There is no jack, and the jack mounting brackets are missing

FRAME...The frame and body mounts are in excellent condition.

FLOORS...The right front floor has a small hole and is a little weak. The rest of the floors seem to be very good.

ROCKERS/BRACES...All braces and rockers are in great condition. There are no visible rust holes, although I have not had this car on a hoist.

SUSPENSION...The front coil springs look like they have been cut shorter. There are some wood blocks supporting the springs now. The rest of the front suspension, and rear suspension looks complete and original.
