Description (details & conditions):

This car is a nice looking car from 10' away. As you get closer you will see body filler around the windshield, right rear side window, and in the cowl area. This classic would make a nice "Old School" driver, or a "Rat Rod". It does not run now, but it could run relatively easy. I drove it off the delivery truck, but it did not run very good! The gas tank may have to be dropped and cleaned out.

BODY...The body looks nice and straight, but if you took this car down to bare metal, you could be surprised. You'll see filler in the areas described above. In addition there is some filler on the quarter panels in front of the rear wheel wells. The driver's door and trunk lid will need some adjustment. The driver's door has some severe rust in the hinge jamb and on the bottom of the door. It is to the point of getting a new door. The passenger door has a 1 1/2" hole under the door. The trunk has a hole cut in the underside of the lid, near the left hinge. I do have another deck lid I will sell with the car if you want it. It's not perfect either, but there is no hole in it, like this deck lid has.

PAINT...The car is in primer and it looks very good. This straight car would look good as an "Old School" driver "As Is"! The primer could be several years old.

CHROME/STAINLESS...There is some light pitting on the hood bird and taillight bezels. The grill is very nice. The beltline stainless and side stainless are very nice. The windshield and back window stainless have a couple of screws put through them, and do not fit the best.

BUMPERS...There is no front bumper. The rear bumper looks like new, except for a slight blemish area on each end.

GLASS...The windshield has a crack on the right side. The balance of the glass is very good.

WEATHERSTRIPPING...There is no door or trunk weatherstripping on this car.

ENGINE...The 235 c.i. 6 cylinder runs, but not very good. There is an electric fuel pump on the car, and it is wiring directly to the battery. It's kind of a mess. I would take this electric fuel pump off and go back to an original one.

CARBURATOR...The single barrel carb seems to work well.

TRANSMISSION...The 3-Speed manual transmission works and shifts good. The shifter is a little tight.

EXHAUST...The exhaust system is complete and I think it would be OK once you got the car running.

BRAKES...The brakes work good. The emergency brake handle is broke and the brake is very hard to pull out.

TIRES...The 15" radial tires are in good condition, and hold air very good.

WHEELS/HUBCAPS...The stock 15" wheels have 2) '55 BelAir hubcaps and 2) '56 BelAir hubcaps. The hubcaps are in nice condition.

INTERIOR...The DelRay interior needs some work! With some new door panels, and carpet, it could be a very nice driver quality interior.

SEATS...The black and ivory DelRay seat covers are in very nice shape. The front seat "back" needs to be tightened, and the back seat is very nice. Both seats need a good cleaning or possibly re-dyed.

DOOR PANELS...The door panels are pretty rough. The fabric has some stains and worn areas. The drivers door pull is missing.

WINDOW OPERATION...I think all of the windows will need some work on their operation. The driver's door glass as well as 1 or 2 others are off their tracks.

HEADLINER...It looks like the car has the original headliner, and it's in very good condition. There are a couple of small stains. Both legs of the back window garnish moulding are missing.

CARPET...The black carpet is staind and discolored, and needs to be replaced

DASH....The dash will need some work too! The instrument cluster bezel is pitted, and the glass is cracked. The heater vertical controls are broken. There is no glove box and the door needs adjustment. The steering wheel is missing the center hub.

INSTRUMENTS/ELECTRICAL...Since this car has not been running, I'm not sure what instruments work.

RADIO...There is an original push button radio in the car, and I'm not sure if it works.

TRUNK...The shock mounts are excellent. There is a small area of fiberglass patching on the left side of the trunk floor. Portions of the trunk rail have filler in it. The spare tire well is great! There is no spare tire or jack.

FRAME...The frame and body mounts seem to be in great shape. There is some surface rust.

FLOORS...The front floor pans have been patched, and not with reproduction pans. The rear floor pans look good.

ROCKERS/BRACES...The rockers look very good! All the braces look very good, except there is some rust in one of the braces on the right front.

SUSPENSION & STEERING...The original suspension and steering is all intact and seem to be in very good condition.
