Here is an exceptionally clean, "Great Driving", 1955 Chevy BelAir Sport Coupe. Not quite a "winning" show car, but an excellent driver. This Rest-o-Rod has a near original look to it on th outside and inside, but has the mechanical stability with a 350 c.i. engine, and 350 TH transmission. This car needs a couple of miner items to make it just a little nicer, including: new hood springs, Belair floor mat set, Taillight bezels, and Sill Plates.
BODY...The car has a very straight body and no dents or signs of body filler. There is no sag in the doors and they close soundly. The hardtop flippers work great. The hood and trunk lid fit very good and operate great. soundly.PAINT...The paint looks great. It could a wax, and maybe a light buffing. There is a small chip under the license plate on the trunk. The lead seams under the trunk lid have some very light cracks.
CHROME/STAINLESS...All of the stainless steel is in excellent condition. The chrome bezels and hood bird are like new, except for the taillight bezels have some very light pitting.
BUMPERS...Both bumpers are excellent with no dents or pitting. The chrome shines brilliantly.
GLASS...Front and rear windows are like new. All glass panels are free of cracks. Both rear side glass and right vent window have some edge bubbles.
WEATHERSTRIPPING...Door and trunk weatherstripping is new.
ENGINE...The 350 engine runs very strong. It's been rebuilt and is very quick. It comes with a Weiland aluminum intake, a pair of tall Edelbrock valve covers, and headers.
CARBURATOR...The Holley 4 bbl carb work very good.
TRANSMISSION...The 350 TH transmission works great and it has the correct 350TH indicator in the dash bezel.
EXHAUST...The exhaust is excellent! The headers could use some coating. The Turbo mufflers sound great. It has chrome ends on the tailpipes.
BRAKES...The original drum brakes work very well. The emergency works good too.
TIRES...The P225/70R15 Radial Grand Am tires are like new.
WHEELS/HUBCAPS...The chrome wheels w/chrome dish hub caps are in excellent condition.
INTERIOR...The over-all interior is in great shape. It has the original style Bel Air cut, seats & door panels.
SEATS...The seats were re-done in an original cut soft vinyl material. There are no tears.
DOOR PANELS...The original style door panels are in excellent condition. They look great.
WINDOW OPERATION...All windows operate great!
HEADLINER...It looks like new, but the front chrome headliner bow has some light pitting.
CARPET...The carpet looks new.
DASH....The original dash looks great. All knobs and bezels are correct. The dash trim looks new!
INSTRUMENTS/ELECTRICAL...Speedometer works somewhat. Odometer and Temp guage do not work. Headlights, turn signals, elec. wipers, and gas guage work well.
RADIO...The radio has been replaced with an original fit "Custom Sound" AM/FM Radio & Cassette player. It works good.
TRUNK...The trunk has been sprayed with trunk liner paint and it has some minor chipping. It comes with a new original Trunk Mat. It also comes with a spare tire and original jack. There is a little body filler on the inside of the left trunk rail. The shock mount sheet metal looks very good!
FRAME...The frame has no rust and is very solid.
FLOORS...The floors look great and have no signs of rust. The under-side has been lightly undercoated.
ROCKERS/BRACES...The rockers and floor braces look great. The rear, full side to side brace, (the one just in front of the rear wheel well) looks like the ends have been replaced.
SUSPENSION...The original steering & suspension works good. The rear shocks are new.
