Description (details & conditions):

This is an exceptional clean, nearly rust-free, almost original '53 Chevy. It runs and drives very good, and comes with a very nice Original Option, "Power Steering"! This is not a show car, but a very good driver to have a lot of fun cruisn' to the drive-in.

BODY...This classic has a very straight body, and no signs of body filler. The only rust that I've found are a couple of paint/rust bubbles on both sides of the car behind the rear tires. There are no dents or body damage. The doors, hood and trunk lid fit and work well.

PAINT...It looks good from 25' away, but it does need a paint job. A treatment of rubbing compound would help somewhat. The trunk lid has the worst paint cracking.

CHROME/STAINLESS...All stainless steel is intact, but there are a few small dings in it. The hood bird and all chrome bezels have some light pitting. The front grille is dis-colored.

BUMPERS...Both bumpers are straight, but have surface rust, pitting, and some scratches. They should be good re-chroming cores.

GLASS...All glass is great. There are no cracks or chips. There are some tiny edge bubbles on the vent windows.

WEATHERSTRIPPING...The door and trunk weatherstripping is intact, but there are some cracks in the rubber foam.

ENGINE...The 216 c.i. engine starts and runs like a "top". It comes with the original 6-Volt electrical system and after-market electric wipers.

CARBURATOR...The single barrel carb works well.

TRANSMISSION...The 3 Speed manual transmission shifts and works great.

EXHAUST...There are no mufflers on this car. The exhaust pipe is splitt and comes out just in front of the rear wheel openings. It sounds OK, but I would personally prefer a muffler.

BRAKES...The original brakes and emergency brake work great.

TIRES...The Kelly P205/70R15 tires are are in good condition.

WHEELS/HUBCAPS...The wheels good be re-painted, and the hubcaps are in good condition.

INTERIOR...This '53 BelAir has a very nice interior. There are a few issues with the seats and headliner, but it is a very comfortable original interior.

SEATS...The seats were recovered in a newer vinyl, but there is some sun fading on the seat backs. The seats do sit well though.

DOOR PANELS...The re-covered door panels are in very good condition.

WINDOW OPERATION...All windows operate great.

HEADLINER...The headliner was replaced with a light grey Crushed Velvet material. It's a liitle wild, and i think an original headliner would be prefered.

CARPET...The red carpet is very nice. The car does need a pair of new door sills.

DASH....It has a very nice original dash. There are some paint cracks on the top of the dash.

INSTRUMENTS/ELECTRICAL...Odometer, speedometer, headlights, turn signals, (do not cancel), and heater all work good. The gas guage does not work.

RADIO...The original radio does not work, and there is no antenna.

TRUNK...The trunk is in great shape. It has the original side cardboard panels, and a very nice rubber floor mat. There is spare tire and original jack.

FRAME...The frame is in great shape. There is no major rust, just some surface rust.

FLOORS...The floor are also in great shape. there is no rust or replacement pans. There is some light surface rust.

ROCKERS/BRACES...They are in very good condition, with light surface rust.

SUSPENSION...The suspension is very good. This classic rides very good, and the steering is tight.
