Description (details & conditions):
If your looking for an "Exceptionally Clean" classic convertible, look no further. This great summer cruiser comes with a NEW interior and NEW convertible top (the top just started a new tear about 2" long). It runs great, and drives very smooth. And, when the bright sun comes out and it's a little too hot, just turn the "Air Conditioning" on, and keep cruiz'in!
BODY...The body is very straight and there are no signs of body filler. The door fit very good, close soundly, and there is no sag in them.PAINT...The paint shines nice, but it could use a good coat of wax. If you look very hard there is a little paint color variation between the door and the front fender on the driver's side of the car. I had some new pin-stripping installed. (It looked bare without it.)
CHROME/STAINLESS...The chrome is this worst part of the car. The hood "center bar", grille bars, driver's door handle, and O.S. mirror all have some pitting. I have a couple of Cutlass emblems that need to be installed .
BUMPERS...The bumpers are nice and straight, but the front bumper could be re-chromed. The front bumper has some light pitting and some peeling chrome. The rear bumper is very straight and the chrome is very good, just could use some polish.
GLASS...The windshield has a couple of very small chips. The rest of the glass is in great shape. The convertible top has "glass" for a back window.
WEATHERSTRIPPING...All of the weatherstripping is in great condition, and it's fits good.
ENGINE...The engine runs very good. I just had the car serviced, a new set of points and air filter installed. The original radiator had a small leak, but it was cheaper to buy a New radiator than to have the old one fixed, so we did.
CARBURATOR...The 2 bbl carb works great.
TRANSMISSION...The transmission was leaking a little, and it was annoying for this very clean car. I just spent $400. to get the transmission rebuilt with new seals, and it was adjusted to shift smoother. This is such a nice cruiser, and I felt that I did not want to sell it with a leaking tranny.
EXHAUST...the single exhaust works very good, and it's in good condition.
BRAKES...The power brakes work almost too good. The car stops quickly with just a little foot pressure.
TIRES...The cruiser has P205/70R14 tires and they are like new. They are Hoosiers Radial GT's with raised white letters.
WHEELS/HUBCAPS...The wheels are the original Rally wheels (painted like the car body). The chrome inserts are loose and should be tightened.
INTERIOR...The over-all interior is in Great condition. It looks great; with white vinyl seats, burl wood inserts on the door panels and dash, and navy blue carpet. It's a great color scheme for this Olds classic.
SEATS...The front bench and back seat upholstry is like new!
DOOR PANELS...The door panels look great.
WINDOW OPERATION...All windows operate very good with no problems.
HEADLINER...Of course there is no headliner. The new top has a 2" tear on the pass. side near the back window. I don't think this is a "Top of the Line" top, but I'm not sure there are different weights of tops.
CARPET...The carpet is like new. I bought some navy blue floor mats for the car.
DASH....The dash looks very good, no cracks in the dash pad. The convertible top switch has been re-located to under the dash. There is an empty spot where the switch should be.
INSTRUMENTS/ELECTRICAL...The headlights, turn signals, gas guage, oil guage all work. The temp guage and dash lights do not work. The fan motor switch is stuck on Medium speed. I have not tried to fix it, nor will I force the switch.
RADIO...I had a CD player installed, and it works good. There was a Radio/Cassettte player in the car when I bought it, and it did not work.
TRUNK...The trunk looks great with it's original trunk coating. there are 2 small spots of rust, deep down inside the trunk wheel wells on each side. They are about the side of a tennis ball. These are the only rust spots that I found on the car.
FRAME...The frame is in Great condition.
FLOORS...The floors are great and show No signs of rust.
ROCKERS/BRACES...The rockers and braces are very good shape too!
SUSPENSION...I had the front-end aligned, and this classic drives great. The shocks are good.
