Description (details & conditions):

Here is a real nice street rod or rat rod project car. With old school cars becoming popular too, put this in primer, and drive as is. It has a good start with the drive-train upgrades. The 396 HP engine, TH400 Automatic trans, and FlowMaster exhaust will offer lots of driving fun. The rest of the car needs quite a bit of work.

BODY...The front clip is very good. There is a small crease under the right turn signal. The left rear 1/4 panel needs some help. There is filler around the taillight bezel, to the trunk lid and under it too. There is filler in the trunk tail pan and the right 1/4 panel, also! Good news is that this car comes with dog leg rear quarters for both sides.

PAINT...The paint is fairly good "driver quality' with a few chips.

CHROME/STAINLESS...Light bezels and the grille bar are very good. The grille was painted at one time. Hoodbird, emblems, & door handles have some pitts.

BUMPERS...The front bumper is very good and "Driver Quality". The rear has some severe surface rust. Both bumpers are pretty straight.

GLASS...The windshield has a chip & wiper scratches. Back window is very good. Both of them need new gaskets. All of the side glass is plexiglass, and needs to be returned to real glass.

WEATHERSTRIPPING...There has been some new door weatherstripping installed. There is no trunk lid weatherstripping.

ENGINE...The 1968 Tonawonda HP 396 c.i. runs strong and sounds great! This classic comes with Electric wipers as all cars built in California were equipped with. This car was built in Oakland. The engine compartment is not cut up like many '55s.(Radiator support and inner fenders are in place)

CARBURATOR...The Holley 4 bbl carb. works great and is a sweet addition to the big block.

TRANSMISSION...The TH400 works very good and it's shifted by a floor shifter.

EXHAUST...The engine has the factory correct exhaust manifolds. There are newer FlowMaster mufflers and and tailpipes. There are some massive 3 1/2" exhaust outlets on the rear of the car.

BRAKES...The factory drum brakes work very good.

TIRES...All tires are in Very Good condition, (fronts like new). Fronts are: Grand Am P215/65R15, and the rears are: Dunlop Radials P235/60R15.

WHEELS/HUBCAPS...It comes with very nice slotted aluminum mags.

INTERIOR...The interior needs quite a bit of work, but would make a great project for the right buyer. Most of the interior garnish mouldings come with the car.

SEATS...The front bucket seats came from a '61 Implala, and are in fair shape, (chrome is bad). Who knows where the back seat came from. I may have a lead on a new front bench seat for $600. if interested.

DOOR PANELS...There are no door panels, but the access panels are all intact.

WINDOW OPERATION...The front window and vents work fine. The back window do not have the window mechanisms, so that lead me to believe that this was a Utility Sedan, but the I.D. numbers indicate a 2-Door sedan.

HEADLINER...A new black headliner and used bows come with the car.

CARPET...New black carpet is also included.

DASH....The dash was recently painted gray. (A fair job). It's in very good condition, Not Cut Up.

INSTRUMENTS/ELECTRICAL...Headlights and wipers work. The turn signals do not. There is an after-market oil gauge in the radio slot. The previous owner installed some toggle switches under the dash. These control the heater fan, and wipers.

RADIO...No radio or cassette.

TRUNK...The trunk floor is solid. There is a crack in the sheet metal by the right shock mount area. There is some rust in the left corner of the trunk rail.

FRAME...The frame and body mounts are in very good shape , No major rust or holes.

FLOORS...The floor pans look very good from the bottom, but the passenger floor may be a little weak.

ROCKERS/BRACES...The inner rockers are very good with very little rust. There is some rust in the rear floor braces in front of the rear tires, and 1 floor brace on the right side has some rust.

SUSPENSION...There is a problem with the rear shock mounts. It rattles when, while driving, you hit a bump. I'll be checking this out and updated my web site with the information ASAP.
