Description (details & conditions):

Here is a Original BelAir 2-Door Hard Top Classic. It's an Alabama car. It runs and drives very nice now, but it needs several small items done to it to make it real nice driver. It has Not been cut up or modified. This classic would make a Great Original Frame-off restoration project, or you could fix the minor things and have a classic to drive and be very proud of. Rest asured, what ever investment you make in these classics will not be money wasted.

BODY...The body is straight and looks very nice, however it is carrying a small amount of body filler on the lower left rear quarter, and around the right rear taillight bezel. There is just a couple of tiny dents. Both doors open and close very solid. The hood needs some minor adustment by the cowl. The trunk lid has no lock.

PAINT...This classic has been re-painted several years ago. It could use some buffing (especially the white area) and a waxing. There are a few tiny sratches and chips in the paint.

CHROME/STAINLESS...The stainless is in pretty good condition, but there are a few problems. The door glass chrome has some pitting. The right side stainless by the paint divider has some severe dents. There is just a couple of other small dings in the stainless. There is no hood bird with the car.

BUMPERS...The bumpers look like there were re-chromed, but there is some discoloration on them. There are however, very straight. There are no license plate lights in the rear bumper.

GLASS...No major cracks, but there is a chip on the driver's side of the windshield, and wiper scratches on the right side. Back window is just fine. The rear side glass has some seperataion of the glass layers. There are edge bubbles on the driver's door glass.

WEATHERSTRIPPING...It's all intact and does it's job well, except the vent window weatherstripping should be replaced.

ENGINE...It has the original Numbers matching 6 Cylinder 235 c.i. engine. I cleaned the plugs, and it runs very good. It could use a tune-up.

CARBURATOR...The previous owner put a carb kit in it, but it's just not working quite right. I think it's a float problem.

TRANSMISSION...It has a Power-Glide Automatic transmission. It works good.

EXHAUST...The single exhaust works good but there is no tail pipe.

BRAKES...I drove the car just a little, and the brakes work good, but they good be adjusted and maybe even some new brake shoes.

TIRES...The Bias-Ply tires are in fair condition.

WHEELS/HUBCAPS...The hub caps are in very nice shape, but only 3 match. One is a '56 hubcap, I think.

INTERIOR...Over-all the Original interior is in Very Good condition, except there is no carpet. The garnish mouldings look great. The dome lights do not work. The interior need a good cleaning.

SEATS...The original upholstry is in nice condtion. (needs cleaning) There are No tears.

DOOR PANELS...The door panels are in Great Condition....Best part of the interior.

HEADLINER...It's nice and tight, but there are a couple of small stains. The chrome bows have some very light pitting, but this could be taken out with steel wool.

CARPET...There is No carpeting in the car.

DASH....The dash has been sanded and needs to be painted. The dash has one after-market knob on the far left (it's the horn, now), but over-all has not been cut up. Needs to be detailed.

INSTRUMENTS/ELECTRICAL...The headlights work, but the switch is not mounted in the dash. The brake lights work. The turn signals need some serious attention in the original steering column area! The vacumn wipers do not work.

RADIO...The original radio has a Hum, but does not work. The antenna is not hooked up.

TRUNK...The trunk has an original floor mat, original jack, and a spare tire.

FRAME...The frame is in great shape.

FLOOR...There has been some patching on the front floor pans. It was done very good, however but not with reproduction pans. The job needs to be finished with some undercoating and the pans would last for years.

UNDERCARRIAGE...The body mounts look good, and the floor braces that are usually rusted, are in good shape.

RUST...The rust has been taken care of in the floor pans, but there is a little rust in the trunk tail pan also that has not been addressed. There is some rust at the rear end of the inner rockers too!
