Description (details & conditions):

If you would like to have the pleasure of restoring a '55, but do not want to mess with the floors and undercarriage, this car is just for you. This is a Great project car for some one who would like an all original car. The entire undercarriage was sandblasted and painted. Below you'll read about all the New parts under the car that are already installed! The body and interior are all original. THIS CAR RUNS AND DRIVES RIGHT NOW, and with a tune-up or engine overhaul, could be a good driver, while you restore it! Please read the whole description, and you'll see that this could be your Dream car. It comes with a 1955 Shop Manual too!

BODY...Over-all the body is straight, but there are quite a few dings and small dents. The right rear 1/4 panel has a new piece of steel ahead of the wheel well. The doors, hood, and trunk lid close soundly. There is some light rust on the left 1/4 panel in front of the rear wheel well, and under the driver's door. There is a little more rust on the body trunk tail pan ends, and under the passenger door.

PAINT...This classic is in "original clothes", Shoreline Beige and Gypsy Red. The paint is faded and dull. Definitely needs to be repainted.

CHROME/STAINLESS...All of the stainless is there, but the right rear 1/4 panel piece is off of the car. There are a few small dings in the steel, but over-all it's in good condition for restoring. ASK ABOUT THE NEW EXTERIOR CHROME PACKAGE AVAILABLE FOR THIS CLASSIC! We will include nearly $1400. worth of New reproduction exterior pieces for only $600 extra. This will bring the SALE PRICE TO $14,500.00. Please call to get the list of new parts.

BUMPERS...The bumpers are straight, but they need to be re-chromed!

GLASS...The glass is very good, for a driver. There are no cracks in it! There are some small scratches on the lower left side of the windshield.

WEATHERSTRIPPING...It's 75% complete, but it all needs to be replace.

ENGINE...The 265 V-8 is the correct numbers matching engine for 1955 and it runs, but not that well. It needs a tune-up now, and an over-haul eventually. You'd want to do this anyway to finish this restoration. I had the oil changed. There is New Coal Tar Battery in the car. It has some New radiator and heater hoses, but they are in the trunk.

CARBURATOR...The original 2 bbl carb needs a carburator kit.

TRANSMISSION...The 2-Speed Power-Glide transmission seems to work well.

EXHAUST...There is a New single exhaust system installed. It looks and works great!

BRAKES...The brakes should be gone through and inspected.

TIRES...This '55 Chevy comes with New Coker Classic Wide White-Wall tires #P205/75R15.

WHEELS/HUBCAPS...There are 4 New Reproduction Bel Air hubcaps included in boxes in the trunk. The original wheels were sandblasted and repainted Gypsy Red.

INTERIOR...The interior is completely original and untouched. It could make a driver quality interor, but it's really in need of a full restoration.

SEATS...The seats sit well but, they need to be recovered. The top of the back seat has been dried out by the sun and the cover is cracked badly.

DOOR PANELS...The door panels are in fair condition. New panels would be included in a complete interior kit.

HEADLINER...The headliner is intact, but it shows it's age.

CARPET...There s no carpet in the car.

DASH....The dash is in excellent original condition, as far as being cut up etc. The paint is very good. It comes with a New horn cap emblem.

INSTRUMENTS/ELECTRICAL...The headlights, turn signals, brake lights, and interior dome lights work. The gas guage and speedometer work too. With all the instruments working now....it could be a driver with some mechnical work.

RADIO...It has a "Radio Delete" panel, no radio.

TRUNK...It has an original floor mat in very nice shape and, an original jack. There is a small rust spot on the inner right wall of the trunk.

FRAME...The frame has been sanblasted and repainted and it looks like new. No signs of rust at all!

FLOOR...The floors has been completely restored and they look great from underneath!

UNDERCARRIAGE...Here is a list of the NEW parts that are installed under the car: Brake Lines, Fuel Lines and sending unit, Coil Springs, Shocks, Body Mounts, and New Inner Rocker Panels. THE UNDERSIDE OF THE CAR LOOKS NEW!! A great start to restoring this Classic.

RUST...There is NO rust under the car.
