Description (details & conditions):
Imagine yourself as Harrison Ford....cruis'n Main in this Great Looking '55 Chevy that has a very nice start to being an American Grafitti clone. The car was lowered, and the rear wheel wells were cut out to allow a full view of the wheels and tires. There has been a lot of work put into this car, and this car looks great too, but it does need several small items. Please read the full description below and give me a call.
BODY...The body looks great. There are no dents and no evidence of body filler. It's very straight and gets lots of looks. The rear wheel openings are cut out to allow a full view of the wheels and tires. It's not a "perfect" job, but it was done very good. (Some signs of filler)PAINT...The newer Black paint shines great. The only flaw that I see, is that there are some chips around the trunk lid and trunk lower lip.
CHROME/STAINLESS...The rear window has stainless trim around it, which is not original. The upper piece is not on the car, but I have the piece, which needs buffing. Headlight and taillight bezels are good driver quality. Hood bird is bad! Front emblem is good, but the insert is bad. Grille bar and grille are not in great shape either.
BUMPERS...I have a Front bumper, and it has a small inside dent in the middle top. With some buffing, both Front and Rear bumpers could be driver quality. Rear bumper has some minor pitting.
GLASS...All glass is in excellent condition. Back rear windows are not able to be rolled down.
WEATHERSTRIPPING...Weatherstripping is fair. Driver's door is 50% there. There is no WS on passenger door. Trunk WS is 50% attached. Front window gasket is like new. Back window gasket has some cracks iin it.
ENGINE...The 350 c.i. engine starts and runs fine. The engine should get a complete tune-up. There is a very good condition radiator. The radiator support was cut, but it has been reinforced by a 1" bar welding behind the radiator.
CARBURATOR...The engine has a Quadrajet 4 bbl.
TRANSMISSION....The 350 TH transmission works fine, but the shifter is a little sloopy.
EXHAUST...This '55 classic comes with headers, and the tailpipes come out just in front of the rear tires. The mufflers have some rust, and will have to be replaced soon.
BRAKES...Comes with front disc brakes that work great. Rear brakes work well too. There is no emergency brake.
TIRES...This classic has 15" Hoosier tires on the front and 15" BF Goodrich on the rear. All are in very good condition.
WHEELS/HUBCAPS...The rally wheels are very good driver quality. Shine great, but there is a couple of small dents on the rings.
INTERIOR...Over-all the interior is very nice. Needs some TLC. There are no kick panels or glove box.
SEATS...Newly re-upholstered bucket seats and original style back seat in grey and purple cloth.
DOOR PANELS...Newly upholstered in purple matching material.
HEADLINER...It has an after-market black headliner. It needs to be reattached at the front window area, and then it would be in nice shape.
CARPET...It comes with very nice black carpet.
DASH...Newly painted, and in nice condition.
INSTRUMENTS/ELECTRICAL...Here is where you'll need to do some work, There is no headlight switch, turn signals (might need a replacement steering column, as there is no turn signal lever), or wiper knob. There is a working tach mounted on the dash. The heater controls are there but not in the dash.
RADIO...No radio or CD player.
TRUNK...The trunk floor had some work done on it at one time, but it has been started to be put back to original. It has a flat sheet metal trunk floor now, but this '55 comes with 3 new reproduction sheet metal floor pieces. The new sheet metal floor is all there except the spare tire well. As it is now, you must open the trunk to put gas in the car. The trunk tail pan is in very good shape.
FRAME...Very solid frame.
FLOOR...This '55 has very nice floors, rockers, body mounts, and braces.
RUST...This car has almost no rust.....
