Once upon a time, I had two dogs, both rescued mixed breeds. Issa was full-grown when we got her, but she adjusted really well. Kitty was just a puppy when we picked her up in an alley, and she grew up to be a wonderful dog.

I grew up with the dog in the house. Bekar was rescued from the street as a puppy when I was ten; he lived a long and healthy life and died at 14 years of age in 1998. He couldn't stand cats for a long time, but Motya has found a way to his heart and they became best friends; now Motya has joined him once again, she passed away on May 15th 2002 at the age of 11.
