We picked a spot where it was easy enough to pull in and to be seen too, and without too much trouble a car pulled over. This was a Mercedes, so not a bad start at all. The driver, a Yugoslavian by birth but who had lived in Sweden for 38 years or so was driving to meet his friend for coffee in Eskilstuna, a distance of around 53km. It was a fast ride along the E20, I watched as his speedometer hit the 200km per hour mark, but it was a smooth ride. He dropped us off at 'a good place to hitch from', and after standing for some time, we changed position, which was equally hopeless! We saw a couple of trucks which had NorCargo on, which seemed like a good bet, and had a brief chat with the drivers. They were not going to Norway but suggested a company called ASG which were located in the industrial area some distance away. We found the industrial area after a short hike and asked for directions from a leather bound guy with and his girlfriend who said it was about an hours walk away, and gave us very loose directions. We started to walk and after about 5 minutes they pulled up behind us in a car and offered us a lift there. The guy had a platted beard and reminded Karolina of an advert which had a rough looking guy who turned out to be a danceband singer with lean voice or something. Unfortunately ASG was well and truly closed, well it was Sunday evening. We found a truck mudflap by the roadside, and scrawled the words NORGE onto it, in the hope that some kind soul would take pity on us, and continued walking through a swampy area which seemed to be heavily industrialised, and through lack of lifts decided to camp in a nearby forest near Hällybrunn. Part of the tent was missing (well lots of parts actually), so we improvised with what we had, at least it was a roof for the night - sort of.
