Ben Folds and a Piano, Portland, 3/19/02

Unloading the piano

These buff dudes are the roadies and the Crystal Ballroom employees unloading Ben's wonderful (and kinda shabby) Baldwin.

Stuffing the elevator

Shoving a 6-10 grand piano into a 2-person elevator. Now I've seen everything. (maybe they should have thought about it before having this concert on the third level?)

McChicken Girl

This is Alyssa. She was the first person I met while waiting for the show. Alyssa was kind enough to offer to go buy us some McChicken sandwiches while we waited. (even though we ended up ordering a pizza anyway..heh..)

The Fans

This would be my view whilst sitting on the stage (a no-no) before the show started. I've never seen the Crystal Ballroom so full.

Annie and I

Not the most flattering picture of myself (on the left) but Annie/Jana/greyseal looks as beautiful as ever. She's my favorite person to hang out with, dontcha know.

The Divine Comedy

Neil Hannon, opening act for most dates on the Ben Folds and a Piano tour. Nice guy, looks a lot like a dude I know. And actually, he was much better than Citizen Cope, so you've gotta give 'im props for that. (How would that translate into British?)
