Laura's Quickie Guide

Laura's Quickie Guide

1. Open up a shop.

·Do NOT put too many pictures/backgrounds in your shop. These a) take away from your shop and b) makes loading take an INCREDIBLE amount of time (especially for people that have modems). If loading takes too long, a possible customer may decide to just go to a different shop instead of waiting.

·Try to put shop items below the lowest price on the shop wizard. For example, if the lowest price for a faerie was 2,700, sell the faerie for 2,500 np rather than 5,000 np. Someone will buy your faerie in approximately 5 minutes, and then you have 2,500 np to spend at the garage sale. You can sell that item at a good price and make more np, and the cycle continues. You have made twice the np in half of the time as the guy selling the faerie for 5,000 np.

·Always, always, always discount shop items!!!! This is crucial. I suggest having daily discount opportunities; for instance, one day make all food items 20% off your normal shop price. This may seem like you lose np, but really by setting very low prices, you get more patrons, and if they see other low prices they may buy more than just what they came for. In addition, posting future discounts is also a good idea, which way customers can plan ahead. If a customer sees that your shop prices are consistently low, they may keep coming back repeatedly.

2. Sell EVERYTHING you do not need.

·This is of course, excluding food/toys/books that your pet will need. (You do not want to neglect your pet!!)

·This is where being a long-time user of Neopets pays off. I had been playing for 6 months and had a very large array of random items stored away in my safety deposit box. One day I was inspired to start selling them; I made 500,000 np in 3 days. (I had accumulated many map pieces, codestones and faeries).

·Swing by the money tree and garage sale often so you will have cheap items to sell.

3. Play the Faerie Wheel Game.

·This may seem like you are taking a risk (well, you are, I guess) but most of the time, you will at least break even, and sometimes you might even win 10,000 np! If you have consistently been losing np, try coming back the next day.

4. Use the garage sale to your advantage.

·Most items in the garage sale are sold at about a tenth of their worth. This becomes very profitable to buy items there.

·STAY AWAY FROM PET PETS. The pet pets at the garage sale are always ridiculously priced; you will end up losing np if you get these.

·Come back often. Remember, the more cheap things you buy, the more np you’ll get when you sell them.

5. The money tree is a great thing.

·Try to go for items that you can sell in your shop, however do not be reluctant to take a big np bag if you see one.

·By pushing refresh, you will get more choices of items you can take. Instead of pushing the refresh button, try holding down the “ctrl” button and pushing “r” (it will go faster, and you can keep the mouse cursor ready to click on the items you want).

·Sometimes, one person will donate a ton of bags of 1 np. Many of these times, hidden among the 1 np bags are treasures that are more valuable.

·Don’t feel too bad about taking donations; remember you are doing Neopia a favor by selling the items in your shop for such low prices.

6. Find a game or two that you are good at.

·Play these games often. It may take some tinkering to figure out the most effective way to make np. For instance, in Meerca chase, once you have hit the 300 np level, it’s better to just stop and send score then to keep playing.

·Send score only when you are sure you have done your best work. Do not waste your three opportunities on puny scores.
