Mid-term break until Tuesday. :)
Last night I went out with Liz T, Naomi, and Laila because Laila was performing ballet @ some place downtown... Quite an interesting experience, lol... Laila was fantastic - she performed with three guys who basically had her up in the air throughout the whole piece. There were other performers too and DJs spinning which was fun.
Afterwards we went back to Laila's (where Liz and I slept over) with Gabe and Jed where we hung out until early morn. Quite random, we watched tv downstairs and chatted and were all falling asleep while watching Lord of the Rings on TMN. So then we shooed the guys out and went to sleep. Which was quite an event. Liz got a bed all to herself and Laila and I shared and she pulled all the covers off me and the radiator by our feet was so hot that my feet got heat cramps and I had a feeling that our blanket would catch on fire. And then Liz T woke up early so spent an hour trying to wake us. Ie, she pulled my pillow away from underneath of my head.
In the morning Liz T left early and Laila and I made pancakes from scratch for us and Rohan and Erik while listening to the Hives and the Strokes on the radio. It was very nice. :)
So now I'm home and tired so I think I'm going to go watch my tape of CSI from last night.

We won at basketball today: 52-34. The scary part? I drove all the way to basketball. Dad made me back out of the driveway too. I did a good job at that but he nearly blew a hernia or whatever when I tried to turn into the parking lot at the school - I almost went up onto the curb. It was scary.
I wrote the SATs this morning. In general, it went well, but the first verbal section was really tough. I mean I didn't have time to go back and mark in my guesses for 4 questions so I had to leave 4 questions blank. :( Liz P and Noemi were also writing at the same place as I did, and they agreed that the first section was a toughie... So I can only hope that the rest of the population thought it was hard too. :)
<-- c'est moi. having fun with a web cam. For some reason my glasses look askew. Oh dear.
Meh so... since the last time I wrote much as happened..I'll briefly summarize. Last weekend was too too busy - I went to UCC hockey night on Friday night and then the party following that. It was so random, for a lack of a better word - at the 'Estonian House' and was busted like 30 mins after I got there. But I didn't have to pay cause there was some kind of stampede when I was going in so I kind of followed the crowd. Ooooohh it was so squishy in the stampede I don't recommend ever joining one.
And then after that I had to get up early the next morning to go to a volleyball tournament in Scarborough. Which was long. And tedious. And tiring.
Throughout the week I stayed after school until at least 7:00 (and 8:30 some nights) for 4 of the nights of the week because of volleyball and prep courses so basically I'm dead right now. Not to mention Muffer slept on my bed last night smack right on my neck (it is the first time she has ever done this... her whiskers tickled my face) so I have a crazy crick in my neck. But I dreamed that I was in Granny and Grandpa H's backyard and there were all these little marshes/ponds that I kept falling in. And everything was so green, like in the Black Crowes' video for "Soul Singing"... And for some reason their backyard joined onto the place at the ACC where you show your ticket. twas crazy.
Haha I just have to say that I was watching true Quality Television the other day - "Man VS Beast". 40 midgets, or "little people" as the announcer kept saying, were competing against an elephant to see who could pull an airplane over a certain distance the fastest. Honestly. It was so sad. The elephant won.

[6:05 PM][email] I went to the hockey game on Tuesday -- the Leafs vs Calgary. Dad got last minute tickets so I went with him . how nice. :D They won, too.
I got back two exams today - Computers (98%) and Math (93%). I'n very relieved.
Not much to say. Hopefully I'll have more later. I'm listening to a CD Laila lent me... it's a mix of The Music's songs that I'm actually liking. :)

Hola.
Gosh so much has happened since I last wrote... I'm back to school. Back to the daily grind of things, but it's still good. We get our exams back on Thursday and Friday. Ipes... Honestly I haven't been thinking about them that much though. We got our PSATs back last Friday. Let's just say I'm very happy with how I did. :D
Volleyball is crazy with all of our practices. We had a practice on FRIDAY after school... It went until 5:30 or so but I left early because honestly who wants to stay after school on a Friday. I was supposed to have another volleyball practice afterschool today, but it was cancelled so I went with Liz T to a shoestore to look at the shoes we love so much... and we will get them sometime soon hopefully.
Still trying to decide what to do on Friday night... there are a few options on the table - Lai and Ny want to go out on the town but a few of us are kinda wanting to go to UCC Hockey Night.. and the party following that. :)
So right now I'm talking to Sarah L on MSN while trying to finish my bio lab... The computer froze three times and I lost a few questions when it froze one of the times... Definitely not good!

My favourite car!! It just happens to be an old junkmobucket but that's still fun.
I had a pretty cruddy day today (besides last period - a spare because the Z did not show up!) cause I did a huge chem lab all wrong and so I had to do it again at lunch and I didn't get to eat lunch. But last period - Laila and I were having a party in the library. (no food but I brought the fun ayee!) :D It was fun.

Happy Boxing Day! :)
It's been so nice to have a break from school... 12 more days until I have to go back. Ack.
Christmas was very fun yesterday. I ate too much of course but I think my stomach expands very nicely to accomodate all of the food... I was reading about this 131 lb guy from Japan, Takeru Kobayashi, who is verrrry skinny but wins all these eating competitions. He can eat 50 hot dogs in one sitting, and then ate two for dessert... In his twelve minute "eating frenzy" he gains 15 lbs. What is this!?? Who does this!?? Is he mad!?? Yes that will be me someday.
WAC stuff is so stressful... I'm worried now that I don't have specific times booked for each speaker and they're not specifically replying back to me and I don't have some of their phone numbers. Triple ack. It's time to move into stalker mode. Ayeee. (My favourite part!!)

Muffin just went and lay down under Dad's desk... ahh she is such a cute kitty. Earlier she got a yank on my pantleg and nearly pulled me off the chair. This is what we get with a 20 lb cat.
I can hear her purring from here. Eek.
Sandra, Muffin misses you.

[9:52 AM][email]
So it's my first day off on Winter Break... and I still wake up at 6:30 in the morning. Is there no justice?? I lay sniffling/snuffling (due to yet another cold I seem to have picked up) awake in bed for an hour and a half just so that I wouldn't actually have to "wake up" at 6:30, even though I did.. confused?
I had a dream that I had a huge wedding, and I wore a purple dress. Twas fantastic. I'm not sure who I got married to though - can't remember.
I got this fantastic CD from Laila for Christmas - it's a best of Duran Duran burn with 17 songs on it. I'm obsessed... I also got a very funny book from her on facts about Hypochondriacs.. is that a hint?? Oy. And Em gave me a really funny book to - The Bad Girl's Guide To The Party Life.. honestly I'm peeing my pants laughing reading it. Add that to a calender with pictures of my beloved Kaberle and random other assortments and it's a pretty fun Christmas with my new stuff. But this is only the tip of the iceberg --there's more to come on Christmas day!!
So that's about it... Through the course of writing this posting I've gone through sixteen kleenexes and a bottle of hand sanitizer. Fun times.

[4:30 PM][email]

I just got home from the Raptors game (w/Em).. Twas very exciting. Really. They played the Washington Wizards, which is Michael Jordan's team. Now let me break this down. Michael Jordan has little skinny shrimpy legs and huge turtle-like shoulders. This is not how I had pictured him. He looks like a dwarf next to Michael Bradley. Now, Michael Bradley is my favourite Raptor (see above #5). I was cheering for him really loudly with Em, and the guy next to us said, "I guess you don't like him for his talent, eh?". Well, excuse me but I take offense with that. Sure he doesn't score huge numbers of baskets, but he's a really good rebounder, and the fact that he is hot (very hot) is just extra. Better than that JYD fart.
Yes, that is him up above. #5. Woo.
I babysat last night. How fun. Since it was a nighttime job I spent much of the time studying for my math exam (which is tomorrow) but of course watching the hockey game too. It was against the Rangers, which have my favourite goalie in the league (Dan Blackburn). So I was kinda sad that the Leafs won by so much (4-1).
Well considering this is a really boring ramble about sports I should probably stop before you fall asleep.

If I had all the money in the world...
Computers and History exams tomorrow. I'd like to say that I did a lot of studying today but shh no I didn't. Well actually - 4 hours or so. And it was pretty effective studying. I probably could have done more.
Instead I found on the internet this piano sheet music sight so I printed off "The Scientist" by Coldplay and "Colorblind" by the Counting Crows, so I've been playing the piano for much of the day.
Plus watching that crazy show "My Guide to Being a Rock Star".. honestly, who came up with it, because it is soooo stupid. Albeit addicting. I only watch it because of Oliver Hudson -- and even he is "sketchy" at times.

Good game last night... Leafs beat the Penguins 4-2. Woo. Kaberle played approx 1/3 of game. yah! Viv gave me the photos of him that she took when she went to the game a few weeks ago. :) There's more on her 2nd roll of film too. I'll be scanning them soon.
Today was the last day of school before exams - tomorrow is the study day, and then Friday I have my first two exams: my grade 12 exams, Computers and World History. Ay yi yi.
We have 2 confirmations for speakers for WAC which is really exciting - two professors actually, but they both teach different things. :)
So... apparently there is a crazy show on TV today about Extreme Makeovers - on ABC they make over (ie: surgery, makeup, etc) 3 people drastically. I am excited.
Even though I should be studying..
Yeah right.
Well at least I think I've decided what I want to be when I grow up - the Corperate Legal Counsel for Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment Ltd. Yep. That would be a pretty good job.

[5:35 PM][email]
I'm listening to Stop Crying Your Heart Out and it really reminds me Irena Durevko from Alias. Or Alias in general. I don't know. But I really like it.
So school is boring... I had my french exam today. It's all strange - they don't call it an exam, but it is in lieu of our December exam. It's worth 15% of our mark. So it's a huge December test-exam.
Well, that's all I have to say... Not much is going on. I haven't started studying for exams yet and they start next week. Ay.
xo Liz
PS: The Leafs game from 2 nights ago was the best I've seen this year. It was so excitin'! Kaberle played so well. :)

[3:49 PM][email]
Margaret came home for the weekend. Woo woo.
We went and saw Die Another Day on Friday night.. it was soo good. Oh I loved it!! James Bond is the best. Madonna had a cameo which was really cool, except she kinda had a semi-British accent going on.. I'm like, "aren't you from Detroit or something??"
I finished my huge history essay on Peter the Great. It's quite something. 14 pages in length, but 2 of those pages are pages of endnotes. I'm glad it's over with. Now I just have to deal with exams.
D/L "I've been everywhere" by Hank Snow.. It's really funny. I've been everywhere, man, I've been everywhere, man, cross the deserts bare, man, I've breathed the mountain air, man, of travel I've had my share, man, I've been everywhere...
It may sound stupid and hickish but it's actually a really good folky kinda song. When I went with Mum and Margaret to the taping of Royal Canadian Air Farce on Thursday, they had this band come out between the tapings. The band was this bald man who kinda reminded me of Gord Downie from the Tragically Hip and Moby at the same time who played the gee-tar, and some other guy who reminded me of Mr. Big from Sex and the City playing the bass. Or plucking the base. Anyway, the band played all these really funny songs... I enjoyed it. And they played the "I've been everywhere" song.

PS: That picture is of my new boyfriend. Isn't he cute??

tuesday, november 26

[3:48 PM][email]
Oh no... isn't he just too cute? Look at that face.. He's Wade Redden, of the Ottawa Senators. He's not enough to make me forget my crush on Tomas Kaberle though.
So I'm pretty sick. It's not good. I had a fever yesterday (and only slept for like 1 1/2 hours for the entire night).. This morning I woke up with intentions to go to school, but I found that I could barely swallow because my throat is so swollen. Or at least that hangy thing at the back of my mouth is. Eck. I have to go to school tomorrow though - I have to make up for 4 tests that I have missed, plus I have the final volleyball tryout tomorrow - I missed the second last one this morning. Not good.

Last night the Leafs game was soo good. They won 6-0 against the Philly flyers!! :)
Goldeneye was also on.. Very good. I'm excited to see the new James Bond movie - next weekend perhaps??
I don't think I've ever had a weekend as boring as this - do you know that with the exception of Harry Potter and basketball I have been studying all weekend. Not good. Bla.
J.Lo says "You know what I mean?" too much. For example:
"For me, you know, I realize: This is my job, you know what I mean, and I happen to love my job, but I also know that that's a part of doing what I do--that's a byproduct of, you know, the fact that I'm in the public eye, you know what I mean? It doesn't, it never becomes two separate people. The same way...Like, people say, 'Your acting and your singing....' I don't see it as two separate things. It's all me, you know what I mean, and I just deal with it, you know, appropriately for how it's best for my survival, you know what I mean?"
Oy.

[5:32 PM][email]
I saw Harry Potter last night.. Oh it was so excitin'! I really enjoyed it -- Harry is just so durn cute. Not to mention Oliver Wood. (See side photo: ooh)
I have so much stuff to do. Bla. I have 4 tests next week and my major history essay due on the Monday next... but I need to get it basically finished for next week because I want to get my teacher to read it over before I hand it in.
Basketball today - we only had 5 players. Eck. Oh and the fat ref with a permanent boner knows my name. Double eck. We lost too.

I want to get these shoes. I'm planning on buying them with my xmas money!! I'm excited. woo woo.
And there's a lot of crazy stuff going on at my school... Vandalism made it to the front page of the National Post.. which is really ridiculous. I mean, why the hell would someone in PEI reading the Post be interested in a private school in Toronto. Honestly. Read the story here. It wasn't in the Globe at all either - I'm speculating that the only reason it was in the Post was because a parent works there. Lord. Plus, the article talks about the vandalism, but in the middle of the article, the writer breaks out into a song and dance about how the school is becoming more diverse and is celebrating it's 100th year. Very non-sequitur.

PS: I'm the new co-SOMA head delegate for Branksome with Em Ursell! Woo woo. (SOMA = Model UN @ U of T)

I just got back from volunteering at the Santa Claus Parade today -- it was so much fun. I was selling red noses to people ($2 for 1, $5 for 3) to raise $$ for Sunnybrook Hospital -- and I got a free sweatshirt!! It is crazy snowy in TO.. I mean, it hasn't stopped snowing since it started I guess last night!?? Well it was snowy and slushy downtown and cold, but cold in a good way. Nippy. What fun.
I can't believe that I have not seen Harry Potter yet.. I really hope that I get to go tonight. Woo hoo. I'm excited!!

SSUNS was crazy fun this weekend in Montreal... I mean it. I cannot wait until next year -- or SOMA in the spring!! I love Model UN. I met up with Sandra with Emily and LizT on Saturday and we went for brekkie @ Chez Cora and also lunch at Ben's. Plus shopping. :)
Volleyball tryouts tomorrow after school. It's going to suck though because I'm trying out against the Grade 12's and 13's plus people from my own grade. So it'll be tough. Hopefully it'll go well. Wish me luck. :)

^^ Nick Stokes from CSI!!

Not much going on... Margaret came home for the weekend and officially graduated from high school. woo hoo. (You know, the public schools are all messed up - graduation in November..)
I leave for Montreal on Thursday morning for SSUNS.. (Model UN) How exciting!! Sandra is going to give Em and Liz and I a tour of the campus on Saturday morning. And then we're going shopping. Fun fun. I'm published though.. you should check out my position paper on the internet. Go here.

[5:49 PM][email]
I have a bad cold. It's really unattractive. Bah.
The Rout was on Saturday (our dance). It was a ton of fun... I went to Em's house before cause she was having a before party. Fun fun. I ended up going as a jock. I took my old basketball t-shirt from last year and turned it into a slim-fitting t-shirt. It's actually really cool. So after the dance I slept over at Em's house with Liz T. Fun times.
bla bla. not much else new. I have so much homework oy I'd better continue.

[12:58 PM][email]
The Stones concert was really good!! For a bunch of old guys, they are pretty lively. Never mind the fact that Keith Richards permanently looks like he's about to enter Rigor Mortis, and they all have dyed hair except for Charlie Watts... who looks like a Grandpa. oy. They played a really good set list too. No Doubt was even better though - they were so fantastic! Gwen Stefani was really good live (she had a really nice voice).
I've been doing a lot of homework this weekend b/c I have a chem test and a history test on Monday. eck.
Last night though I went with Em to a WAC shindig.. lol. There were literally 6 girls there, and all of the UCC WAC guys plus a few. Oy. overload.
Kaberle scored a goal last night during the hockey game vs. Montreal. His goal tied the game 2-2. Yay!
my love

This is really funny. Check it out.

Rolling Stones concert tomorrow with No Doubt as their "special guests"!!! Yay!!! I'm so excited.
I also have a X-country race tomorrow. It's in the beaches, and is a relay race. How interesting. I only have to run 3 k. Woo.
We got our countries assigned to us for SSUNS (model UN in Montreal) today. I'm in North Korea, with Liz T and Em. I'm on the World Health Organization. How excitin'. I'm lookin forward to it. xo Liz

Turkey Turkey Turkey...
I love turkey with bread stuffing mm mm so good and we have enough to last me until next year!! I LOVE THANKSGIVING!!!
We celebrated Thanksgiving last night because tonight we're going to the Raptors game. (We being me, Sandra, and Sandra's friend Kate.. plus Mum and Dad but they have seats elsewhere).
Oy, I got GLASSES. I had an eye appt on Friday and the optometrist gave me all these crazy tests and shone lights in my eye and asked me if I could see things in 3-D with special glasses on... Crazy crazy. So it turns out that my right eye (my dominant eye) is pretty weak. And so I needed glasses for reading blackboards, watching TV, movies, etc... Whenever I take them off, though, it feels like I have film overtop of my right eye. Uck. It's this really weird blurry feeling, except it's not too blurry, just... fuzzy? I don't know. Not important.

I've decided I want to be a secret agent in the FBI.
The TV show Alias has nothing to do with this. Cough cough.
I had my braces tightened today... they put this crazy elastic clear thing in my mouth that is supposed to twist one of my teeth..tooth..tooths. whatever.
I took out this crazy book from the library today on Peter the Great for my history research essay... It's like 1200 pages and weighs 500 pounds. ahh. And I'm supposed to read it.

[2:05 PM][email]
Last night I rented The Breakfast Club. What a cute movie... except for the ending.. If you've seen it you'll know what I'm talking about. I mean, way to be creative. Blah.
I ran in the Run For The Cure today which seemed to go by really quickly. It did not seem like it was 5 k. That's probably because when I ran it last year I was out of shape and it seemed like it took forever. I got a free t-shirt woo woo and some tattoos woo woo and some food woo woo and like 10 Chatelain magazines.
I'm going to go babysit for 3 1/2 hours at 3:00. :) I'm saving my money to buy a Disc-man.

friday, october 4

[5:10 PM][email]
Today was probably the best Friday I have had so far this year... I don't even know why. It wasn't as tedious as the others have been...
I joined Beta Kappa with Em and Liz -- We had a meeting at lunch today. We're planning the Rout, our first dance of the year. (It's at the end of this month) We're designing the posters... The theme is "Breakfast Club 2002"... as in "freaks, geeks, and other cliques". Woo woo.

Brothers and sisters feel fine, it's the time of your life...

[5:56 PM][email]
Much to tell... Saturday night @ Lizzy T's with Em... quite an adventure. It was fun. We were going to go to some party some UCC guy was having.. but it didn't work out. :( apparently it would have been mostly grade 12's there and hey what is the fun in that!?
Cross country is so much fun... Our first meet is tomorrow (the IONA invitational), in Etobicoke @ Centennial Stadium. I'm nervous, because we have to run up the huge garbage dump hill... The Chorley Park hill in Rosedale is comparable though.. yikes. My legs are hurting just thinking about it.

so... I just added a picture of me and Liz T on the left. It was taken yesterday on Meg Leds tiny digital camera... It's blurry but o well. My hair looks green - it's really not.
I saw Sweet Home Alabama y-day w/Viv and Noemi.. We saw Raquel and Sami at the theatre along with 10000 other BH girls, so we sat with them. It was such a sweet movie. I loved Ethan Embry as Bobby Ray.
