The GrunjPunkins Compilation is a compilation album of the band's 3 debut e.p.s. The GrunjPunkins is the solo band that Russell Shipp was in before meeting Jordan and creating Terremoto of the Quietones. This album is entirely influenced and based on MxPx's own compilation album, "Let It Happen". It attempts to continue MxPx's widely loved roots of the "grunge punk" sound (in Russell's words), which consists of the guitar effects being very distorted (so much that it fills all space that the drums and bass leave and creates a thick, grungy atmosphere), the music as fast as possible, the drums very fast and complex, and the singing raspy, grungy, and occasionally shouting.

It was Russ's goal to have 32 songs like Let It Happen does, but unfortunately there wasn't enough space to fit 32 songs; it seems the GrunjPunkins have a knack for making longer songs than MxPx(while just as fast or faster). Nonetheless, the album is filled with song material as close to the 80 minute finite point as possible. This album contains the 3 G.P. debut e.p.s and a bonus e.p. of new, unreleased songs. The songs that couldn't fit on this album, that were originally on the eps, have been transferred to the next album(which probably will be another compilation, and may go under the GrunjPunkins name as well- since the songs came from the GrunjPunkins eps). Or rather, I'm taking the songs that are protests out of the Volume I compilation and putting them into the Volume II compilation which will be completely protest songs(just as an experiment to have a solid protest themed album). But I'll only take out songs until the 1st compilation album is filled to 80 minutes.
