One Shell of a Comeback!

Well he certainly looks badass enough for me

TMNT 2003:

When I first heard Ninja Turtles was coming back to the Saturday morning lineup, I was freaking out. And I don't mean that in a good way, either. They were going to do it. They were going to bastardize my baby.

Leonardo was going to have a laser gun, the turtles would pilot giant robots, and they were going to bring back that awful girl turtle. If you don't believe me, look at what happened with Extreme Ghostbusters. I wasn't worried about a crappy new cartoon - I was worried about the desecration of something sacred.

But NO! I'll be damned if they didn't pull it off.

The opening theme may have been a little weak, but there were the Turtles, just like I remembered them. Also featured were April, Splinter, Shredder, and, to my joy and delight, guest appearances by Casey Jones and Baxter Stockman. This was the real deal!

All in all, I could only pick out a handful of disappointments from the first episode.

1.) Intro Song - f#$king weak, and that's all I've got to say about that.

2.) Splinter's voice - horrible.

3.) Shredder's voice - even worse. He ain't a goddamn robot, so don't make him sound like one.

4.) Shell-phone - what....the....f#$k..? I want my damn Turtle-Comm back.

On the other hand, these weaknesses were easily offset by the copious amounts of cool shit that they did.

1.) Fight music - the techno is bumpin! I love it!

2.) Eyes - the new angry-eyes are cool as hell. They make the turtles look total badass.

3.) Foot Soldiers - bigger and badder then before. These guys have these cool little capes that let them fly around. They can run on walls and shit too.

4.) Casey Jones - I mean, damn. You don't want to meet this guy in an alley. Once again - total badass.

So yeah, that just about raps it up. It's on every Saturday at 9:30 AM, so GO WATCH IT!
