If anyone has ever told you that women are equal, it may seem true but look around: Women are still being seen and used as if they were below men. In the hardcore scene, sexism is rampant. Girls are there to look "cute" and hold their boyfriend's coat while they rock out, earning the stereotypical female nickname, "coatrack". Just because it's an aggressive scene and girls are supposed to be mild-mannered and soft-spoken doesn't mean that we have to adhere to society's incorrect standards. Girls can be just as tough, just as rebellious, and just as aggressive, and not just in the sexual way, which seems the only acceptable way for us to be straight forward and aggressive with other people, mostly men. Sing faster, punch harder and don't let anyone feed you sexist bullshit. There are too many problems that we face as women to have to let intolerant and unreasonable comments get to us, or even let them exist. There is no excuse for sexism, so voice these things because they're really important. Make you beliefs and opinions known. Demand that people listen, because the truth needs to be out there. Don’t let anything stop you. Their comments, their opinions, they’re all stereotypes that don’t apply to us. And if someone says to you, "Girls are meant to be seen and not heard" give 'em a double dose of the middle finger. How's that for seen and not heard?

There are over thirty deragatory terms for a female, but there aren't any for men. Things like "slut", "ho", and "whore" are common names for a promiscuous girl. You see a guy who has just as many partners as the 'slut' is referred to as a player and looked up to. Men want to be veiwed as a desierable person, ans he wants the girls to want him and he'll take anything from a woman that he can get. If a woman dresses provocitively, one can justify rape but saying that she was asking for it by dressing a certain way. So, because a girl looks good, that's reason to have sex with her without her consent? It's appalling, but it's the world that we live in. A man's clothes come off at a concert, whatever event have you, he's just being funny and everyone laughs and he's not thought of any less. A girl's shirt comes off at a concert or that same event,she'll be looked at like nothing more than a common prostitute. Promiscuous women(and I'm not condoning promiscuity, I'm just comparing), are looked down on severely, they'll get called names and mistreated. A promiscuous man is looked at as an accomplished conquistador, because we women are just conquests. Sleep with one of us and cross another name off of a list that's tucked away underneath your pillow. Women are to be kept at their stronger male companion's disposal and to be paraded around, to show off what he's caught as if she were a prized kill.
