The Nut Jobs Of Greater Boston, Mass Explanation

This song is about my old school, the New Jewish High School. I hate that place. So I expressed it through song. The name comes from a joke I made about how it should be called The Nut Job High School, and that it would be cool because it would still be able to be NJHS.

i can't think of a worse two years
than the ones i spent inside you
and i need to tear up the walls
burn the place down
how do i learn when all i do is spend money?

That line, "I can't think of a worse two years/than the ones I spent inside you" really makes it sexual, huh? Well, my grade was extremely sexual...

i hate my name, i hate my face
and i can't believe what was done to me
posters on the wall with my name written on them
when they have nothing to do with me
you've made me into a name rather than a person
so how do you expect me to react?
i have to live up to the legend somehow
i have to make them love me
i have to get out

That is all in reference to the nick name I earned during my years there, MattBob. The posters on the wall haveta deal with how the yearbook commitee made a poster saying "if you're name is on here, you're in the year book!" and my name was on the list twice. I wasn't in the yearbook minus one picture of me that was in those.. I dunno, sections that have everyones picture. I was also somewhat of a legend there and originally started off trying to make everyone love me.. so thats the other lines in there.

so fire off the guns
knock the phone off it's hook
and rip up the papers
i won't miss this at all

This is all in reference to a movie I made that was the most popular film at my school the year it was made called "The Wrath Of Kriegenshieferman" about an evil mad scientist student who turned another student into a robot to kill another student... such drama!! "Fire off the guns/knock the phone off it's hook" is in reference to the final fight scene between the robot and the hero. "Rip yp the papers" refers to a flashback scene where the hero is at his birthday party and rips open his present... don't ask. "I won't miss this at all" is basically saying that while yes, this was the best part of the school, I can still do it outside. That stanza is also a small send off to the Murder By Death song "The End Of The Line" with the lines "so set the bone with a cardboard split/and strike the nail against the flint/and set the fields on fire" referring to fighting the devil.

i'm tired of being loved and ignored
i'm tired of thinking and being hit
i'm tired of the walks i have to make
i'm tired of the drama
i'm tired of everything here
the cheating, the lieing, the sleeping around
what happened to normal people?

"Loved and ignored" = if I'm so popular and everyone knows my name and cares about me, why does no one talk to me? "Thinking and being hit" = a political conversation I had where I opposed the war on Iraq and was slapped. "Walks I have to make" = the walk to school and from school I made day to day. "The drama" = the drama. There was so much ridiculous unnecesary drama with cheating, lieing, excessive sex (like I said, I had a horny grade) that you just have to ask yourself.. "what happened to normal people?"

Ladies and gentlemen... the Nut Job High School of Greater Boston, Mass.
