Poem of the Week
Without Sleep
Journey to the place
Where light is sleeping
And darkness engulfs everything.
Alone at night,
When it seems like the world has died
And left no explanation.
No reason for this cruelty:
Isolation treatment.
Such degradation, one should not endure.
Eyes open wide constantly;
They stare at nothing,
Concentrating on emptiness.
One eye searches for justification,
The other, for a solution,
But still they see nothing.
The sunset, no longer beautiful,
Mocks while it lulls others to sleep.
The malevolent silence of the people,
Those who float in temporary bliss,
Disturbs the conquered soul,
Who covets such a refuge.
Without sleep there can be no dreams.
The night added to the day
Creates too much time for thinking.

So, I know I haven't updated in about 8 months, but I'm updating now. All I have tonight is a little sketch I did, but there should be more things in the near future as soon as i brush up on html. A scanner would help too. I might even get a new layout. Oooo ahhh. Yeah, so go look at the sketch.

Another poem by Caitlin Muldoon today. Before reading it, she suggests you look up the story of Damocles if you don't know it already. Enjoy! Don't forget to comment on this poem and any other poem or story!
