Backpacking Trip

Now you may ask when did they have time to arrange where they were going, get their supplies and plan out their food? See, if I were you I'd be asking the same questions. However, I'm not you and I know that I work only through procrastination. Yes, that's right, we planned all of this in pretty much about a day. We just picked up and went, it was great. We sort of left good ole Belmont with a tentative plan and a bunch of supplies and headed up to the White Mountains. We were planning on hiking up Little Haystack, Lincoln and Lafayette and then continuing on our way across the ridge to Garfield until we saw the huge cloud covering the mountains and saw all the snow all around us. So, needless to say, we chose a different route.

So Rachel and I definetly DID NOT climb Mt. Washington, but we had a pretty good view of it from the top of South Twin.

We were definetly really really tired the last days of our trip and this definetly show how dirty and nasty we were. We were even asked if we were through hikers...yeah not a good thing to be asked.

See that path coming up the ridge of this mountain? Yeah, we climbed up that. It doesn't look that difficult, but if you saw the view from the bottom, you'd understand our pain. Despite how many times Rachel slipped and fell in the snow, or how it was freezing cold, or how we clung to the branches for dear life, or how that one trek back from South Twin took forever, it was an awesome trip and I wouldn't take back any of it.
