Part Forty-Nine
Xander leaned heavily against the porch roof support, staring out into the night, the stars and the moon barely registering in his mind as he thought about the night before. Why had Corey been so insistent they leave last night? It’d been the first time he’d seen Jesse in over two years. And Corey had been so quiet on the drive home, ander hadn’t wanted to break the ominous silence between them. He knew Corey would explain tonight, but he still worried.
Hearing a throat cleared, Xander turned around. Giles stood in the doorway. “May I ask what has you so introspective tonight?”
Xander sighed and looked at the man he now thought of as his father. “It’s complicated.”
“It seems everything is these days,” replied Giles evenly, smiling a bit faintly.
“We ran into Jesse last night.”
“Really? And how is he doing?” Giles worked to keep his voice from showing his shock at this bit of news.
“Great, from what I could gather, anyways.” Xander turned to view the star-studded night once more. His voice hitched slightly as he continued, “Corey m-made us leave.”
“He did?”
“Yeah,” a tear slipped unnoticed down Xander’s cheek. “I don’t know why. He said he’d tell me, but…” Xander’s voice trailed off.
Giles moved closer and placed a comforting hand on the young man’s shoulder. “Don’t fret, Xander. I’m certain he will explain himself. You know Corey always has a good reason for his actions.”
“I know, but I just can’t stop from thinking. What if he’s jealous?”
“Everything will work out, Xander. You’ll see.” Giles smiled wryly, “Trust an old man on this one.”
Xander turned back to face Giles again. “You’re not old,” he said, a small grin crossing his face. Old is like 50. You’ve got a couple of years to go.”
“Very reassuring,” came the dry response. Only the glint in Giles’ eyes told Xander Giles was teasing back.
“Shouldn’t you be with Liam?” asked Xander suddenly. “It is your anniversary.”
“Yes, well… teenage boys in crisis are more important…”
“Than romantic candlelit dinners with your better half?” snickered Xander. “So totally not a good reason. Now, get back inside.”
“Are you…”
Xander interrupted Giles again, “I’m fine. Corey’s on his way.”
“Certain?”
“Of course,” sighed Xander. “I’ll be back tomorrow.”
“Yes, well, do try to get some sleep tonight,” said Giles, heading back inside.
“You too, old man.”
Iam and Oz worked steadily on trying to find files about Corey. Finally Oz sighed happily and poked Iam in the back.
“What?” asked Iam, not looking away from the computer screen where he was trying to hack into a database.
“I’m in.”
“Oh, great!” Iam scooted his chair over so that he could look over Oz’s shoulder.
Oz sucked in a slight breath, but otherwise didn’t let Iam have any clue how much he enjoyed spending time with the blonde.
“Well, can you find anything?” asked Iam, nervously wiggling in his seat.
Oz took a deep breath and tried to ignore the bouncing teen slightly behind him. Hang on, I’m looking.” He typed in Corey’s name, and scanned the files intently. “No police record. Got transcripts for three high schools though.”
“Let me see.” Iam leaned forward, his chin bumping Oz’s shoulder as he read the names and locations of the schools. “Nothing there. What else?”
“Uh, social security records, birth certificate, and… that’s about it.”
“Bloody hell. The fucker’s clean,” muttered Iam angrily, flopping back into his chair angrily.
Oz grunted in agreement, thankful Iam had moved back a bit, before clicking on the file for Corey’s birth certificate. He scanned it quickly, then his eyes widened as he stared at the father’s name. He let out a small gasp.
“What? Oz, what is it?”
Oz clicked the document shut before Iam could get a good look at it. “Nothing.”
“Come on, tell me,” said Iam, a pout creeping over his chiseled features. “What did it say?”
“Nothing.” Oz refused to tell, even when faced with Iam’s gorgeous pout.
Iam narrowed his eyes, grumbling.
“Why do you care so much?” asked Oz, standing up and looking Iam directly in the eyes.
Iam was taken aback. “You know why. He’s nothing but trouble.”
“Only cause he’s with Xander.”
Iam looked at his friend for a second. Did his voice just wobble? “What are you saying?” he asked angrily.
“That maybe you should stop stalking Corey. Maybe you should find someone else, and leave Xander and Corey alone!”
“And I suppose you know a perfect someone?” asked Iam snidely, hiding the fact that he was hurt by Oz calling him a stalker. “One of your friends?”
“No,” came the curt reply.
“Come on, Oz, you wouldn’t say anything unless you did.” Iam stared right at his friend, challenging him. “So who?”
“Me.”
Oz’s reply was spoken so quietly, Iam almost didn’t hear it. His eyes widened almost comically as he absorbed what the shorter man had said. “You, uh… you,” stammered Iam in shock, not sure how to react. He stood and took several steps backwards. Oz just watched him silently. “But, but… Veruca. You’re with Veruca,” babbled Iam.
“Broke up with her.” Oz moved forward, walking toward Iam slowly. Placing one hand behind Iam’s head, he pulled the blonde down and kissed him.
Iam gasped as Oz’s tongue moved into his mouth, hot and wet, exploring. Moaning, he pulled Oz closer, as the red-haired boy slipped one hand under his shirt, caressing his chest.
Liam shed his clothes quickly, while Giles watched from the bed, already nude and waiting. “Liam,” murmured Giles as his dark-haired lover crawled up the bed like a stalking panther.
“Shh, no words tonight.”
The two men kissed, deep and passionate, tongues tangling in a sensual dance as they writhed against each other. Liam reached over the side of the bed, snagging the lube he had placed there earlier. He snickered quietly when he thought about the holster they had created to keep the lube in easy reach, then quickly sobered as he worked a finger into his lover.
Moaning as he was quickly prepared, Giles thrust his hips against Liam’s in an attempt to relieve the pressure in his groin. A second finger was added and he groaned as Liam moved away. “Please…”
“Shhh,” murmured Liam, as he removed his fingers and placed the head of his cock at Giles’ hole. He slowly thrust in, until he was completely filling his lover’s hot channel. He waited a moment, to allow Giles a moment to adjust before starting a slow, steady rhythm of thrusting.
“Liam…” panted Giles.
Liam leaned down, silencing Giles with his tongue as he slowly thrust into his lover’s willing body. Continuing his steady pace, Liam began jacking Giles off slowly. The two writhed and thrust for long moments. Panting and the sound of skin on skin the only sounds in the room, until Giles came with a muted howl. Liam moaned long and loud as he came, before collapsing bonelessly onto his lover.
Vincent sat quietly in the living room, waiting for Jesse. Once the boy had entered and sat down, he spoke, “So, how was the concert?”
“Good. I, uh, ran into someone I wasn’t expecting to, though.”
“Oh?” asked Vincent, feigning curiosity.
“Yeah, Xander.”
“Really.”
Jesse narrowed his eyes. He’d suspected Vincent already knew, and that one word confirmed it. “But you already knew that. And you also know that he wasn’t alone.”
“Why, Jesse, are you implying that I don’t trust you out on your own?”
“Pretty much, yeah.” Jesse’s gaze never wavered from Vincent’s.
“Good.” Vincent sat back, smiling. “Because I do trust you, you know. You’ve been nothing but loyal and obedient for the past two years. And you volunteered the information.”
“Why wouldn’t I? I want to know what games you’re playing.”
“Pardon?” Vincent was truly thrown by that statement.
“Don’t, Father. He’s your son. He told me so. What I want to know is why he’s in Sunnydale.”
Vincent considered this for a moment before a truly evil grin spread across his face. “Very well. I sent him to Sunnydale two years ago to insure that Xander did not get involved with Iam.”
“Oh.” Jesse fidgeted, shocked that Vincent would actually volunteer that information.
“I know you’re wondering why I told you that,” stated Vincent smugly.
“Well, yeah…” said Jesse slowly.
“Corey’s become a bit of a problem, a liability. See, he thinks he doesn’t have to answer to me anymore.” Vincent paused and smirked at Jesse. “It’s rather fortuitous you met him, actually. The little idiot went and fell for the boy. That’s why he’s being…” Vincent stopped to choose the best word, “difficult. And now I need you to help me get him to see the error of his ways.”
“What do you mean?”
“I mean, he needs to be punished, but I don’t wish to use force to bring him here.”
Jesse’s cruel smile matched the one on Vincent’s face. “But only because it would blow apart the fact that no one in Sunnydale knows who he is. Not even Giles.”
“Precisely.”
