Name: Aurelia Cailan
Name Meaning: Aurelia means 'golden' in Latin, while Cailan means 'child', so to sum it up her name means 'golden child'
Age: 17, going into her seventh & final year
Likes: Many of her strongest affinities get touched upon pretty heavily over the course of the app, so those are not really addressed here except for a few of the smaller things. Aurelia loves the rain; in her opinion rain is one of the most beautiful and romantic things that happen naturally on earth. Aurelia loves Muggle board and card games and plays them just as well as she does Wizard Chess.
Dislikes: Aurelia doesn't like gloves as they make her hands rather itchy. She hates Muggle soap operas for the way they portray Muggle life. Harsh chemical perfumes have always been less then enjoyable to Aurelia. She would be much more appeased with natural oils and the pleasant smells that come with nature (fresh air, the air after a rainstorm, etc.).
Hobbies: Aurelia has never been beaten at Wizard's Chess.
Aspirations: Aurelia will one day hopefully work on the school teaching staff, and will take a temporary job in Augurey's library this year.

Appearance
Aurelia has golden-brown hair, which falls to her mid-back in straight strands, with a few layers framing her face in the front. She never wears her hair up in any elegant style, but prefers to just brush it or curl it a little for special occasions. Her eyes are of the Celtic variety, meaning they contain 4 colors at once, in this case blue, green, gray, and mocha-tan. She is tanned and well built from her summers of gardening at the Cailan home, and when standing at her full height she is 5'3". Her chin is somewhat sharp, telling others that she is strict and serious, but the thoughts of her chin melt away when she smiles, forming a small dimple in her left cheek. Aurelia, being a student, will wear her uniform all day long on school days. During vacations she wears normal Muggle clothing, usually consisting of jeans and t-shirts, as she lives out in the middle of the Muggle world and walking around in cloaks and the liking would just be stupid on her part.

Personality
Aurelia has a wide range of interests, and a distinct personality. At first glance, she tries to be polite and reserved. Some people think she isn't friendly when they first meet her, but once they get to know her, she lightens up and is friendly and outgoing. She even has a silly sense of humor that doesn't come out until she is completely at ease with a person. She is also known to stick her foot in her mouth, much to her embarrassment. She is ambitious and sets high standards for herself and others. She's also a natural leader; though not in the bitchy, bossy way. She's more of an iron fist in a velvet glove. Those who are in her groups and teams naturally let her take the lead. She is smart, but she's not the brightest student in her classes. By working hard in class and on homework, Auerlia manages to get all As and Bs. As she says "Thank god for extra credit!"
Aurelia gets impatient easily. She isn't very good with little kids at all because she is impatient with them. She's probably not so good with little kids 'cause she's an only child (or at least that's my theory). She prefers being with people who are her age or older. When she gets impatient, she is quick-tempered, which sometimes gets her in trouble. Once she cools down she can usually smooth things out, because she can be diplomatic. She doesn't really like to fight with people, it just happens when she is impatient.
In love, Aurelia knows her place: at the top. Of the relationships she has been in, she has learned that few guys take the initiative in actual commitment. As much as she adores the courtly love of the hopeless romantic, she will not settle for flowers and candle-lit dinners if the man she is dating refuses to make a stand with his heart (this might not make any sense, but that is almost exactly how Aurelia would word it, as well). If she hears the words “I love you” too soon, Aurelia doesn’t run in fear or curl into a little ball; she slaps the man who spoke those words. There is no way this woman is about to listen to anyone try to play games with her heart. She knows that when the words are spoken in truth, she will recognize them. She has yet to recognize them spoken in truth.

History
Aurelia was born to Robert and Leland Calian. Robert, a seventh generation pureblood wizard, armed with a good job in a racing broom developing company in America. Leland spends her days working in the Calian garden. Aurelia grew up in a Muggle suburb; behind a high hedge as to keep the world from seeing the obvious magical abilities of the Calians. Despite this, Aurelia was raised comfortably. Aurelia attended Muggle public school from the ages of 4 to 11. There she was considered something of an outcast as she didn't have many friends and she never invited anyone over to her house to play or to hang around. When she was 11 she received her letter from Augurey and was shipped away to stay at the school. At the age of 15, Aurelia began her volunteer work in the school's library. As of such, Aurelia spends her time divided between homework, the library, and classes and pretty many runs on stress.

Items: Her wand is 10 inchs, slightly swishy, made of oak and unicorn's hair. She carries it around underneath her cloak, just like anyone else and besides that she doesn't carry much else besides her book in a huge canvas bag, thrown over her shoulder.

Animal Guardian: A silver-gray tabby cat that Aurelia simply calls Doc. Doc is, in so many words, rather eccentric. He's just a bit bigger then the average cat, with silvery-gray fur and golden eyes. As far as movement, Doc doesn't do too much of it, preferring to laze around like a fluffy rag doll. However, when he does deign to do anything, it's done with high speed and the grace attributed to the feline race. Doc loves Aurelia to the point of worship, and is terribly jealous of anyone who comes within three feet of her in his presence, to the point that he'll bite. Aurelia found Doc lazing around the grounds of Augurey in her first year and has no idea how old he is; though she's guessing about 8, or where he came from to begin with.
