How strange is this? You decide….
On the 13th of Feb 2004 I personally posted two letters from Eastbourne to Plumstead Police station by recorded delivery, they would have to be signed for at the other end. They were marked as being sent from me and had nothing on the envelope’s to alert anyone that they could be from Dave, Taz or Jacket. The letters were in fact statements from Taz and Jacket regarding the ongoing trouble and abuse from Jen. (And yes I kept copies of these statements!)
Naturally I kept the recorded delivery receipts, just to be on the safe side; Dave has often told me about things going missing! A week later I telephoned the helpline and tracking number given on the reverse of the receipts to make sure that the letters had been delivered. I was told that the letters had not been delivered or signed for and no reason could be given as to why. I was advised to fill in a complaints form at the post office, attach the receipts to it and the matter would be investigated.
First things first, photocopy and scan the receipts, I was not going to hand them over to the post office without doing that, by now I was just a little suspicious, one letter could go missing, but two? Recorded deliveries at that?!
I duly filled in the forms to report the letters missing and handed in the original receipts. I waited to hear an explanation from the post office, I waited and I waited.
On the 10th May 2004 I received two identical letters, dated the 5th May, from the Royal Mail customer service centre, Salford signed by Olivia Bishop, apologising for the missing letters but stating that it was ‘not possible to say exactly how or why the items had gone astray’ The letters added that if I was not happy I could call customer services to have the matter escalated. I decided that I should indeed call customer services and escalate the matter; I could accept one going missing but not both, especially as they had been sent recorded delivery.
I telephoned the customer service centre on the afternoon of the 10th May. The first man I spoke to took the reference numbers from the letters and advised me that the person who had signed the letters did not work at that call centre and he put me through to another call centre. At this call centre (Clipper Key, Salford) I spoke to a very helpful lady called Julie Ellis. I gave her the reference numbers on the letters and she looked on her computer to try and locate this ‘Olivia Bishop’ who had signed the letters sent to me as she had not heard of her and didn’t think she worked there. I could hear Ms Ellis trying to locate the person with a name search on her PC.
Ms Ellis came back on the phone and told me that there was NO RECORD of an O. Bishop on the computer, she didn’t work there, I joked with her about the fact that the person that signed my letters didn’t work for Royal Mail and maybe she should try Scotland Yard. (Ms Ellis had no idea that the letters I was asking her to investigate further had anything to do with Dave Courtney.) Ms Ellis then asked me for the reference numbers from the recorded delivery receipts (lucky I kept them eh!) She looked for these on her computer and guess what?….she could not locate them either, someone had deleted them from Royal Mail’s P.C.! Ms Ellis said that it was all very strange and I made a joke about someone hacking into the Royal Mail P.C. Ms Ellis told me that according to what she could see on the screen in front of her the matter had not been dealt with in the ‘normal’ way, a request had been entered for the issuing of the books of stamps for me but in all other ways it was handled ‘wrongly’ and ‘differently’. Of course she couldn’t put me through to the person who was dealing with it, the person who sent me the letters, as according to her computer that person didn’t exist or work for Royal Mail. Ms Ellis promised to look into the matter, she even joked that it would take ‘some time’ and that she would need her Miss Marple hat! I told her not to be put off by anyone or anything and to please get to the bottom of all this. She insisted that she would. Ms Ellis then read out a phone number to me and asked if it was mine. I stated that it was not mine, far from it, and she replied by saying that this O.Bishop who sent me the letters had even put in my telephone number wrongly! She took my correct phone numbers.
So basically the apology letters I received on the 10th of May supposedly from Royal Mail were sent by someone who apparently doesn’t work for Royal Mail and the records concerning the missing letters have been deleted from the Royal Mail P.C.
How strange is that?
On the 12th of May at 10.45am I telephoned Royal Mail again, every time you call their customer services you get a different operator, this makes things very difficult as you have to repeat the whole saga again and then try and get put through to the person dealing with it, in this case Julie Ellis. I spoke with the operator, from Stoke on Trent branch who confirmed no Olivia Bishop (the one who my letters were supposedly from) was on their systems as working for them. She told me that Julie Ellis was on her break and promised that Julie would phone me back.
Shortly after this call I received my post for that day and guess what? Another letter from Royal Mail, signed by Olivia Bishop and dated 10/5/04, this was identical to the first one I had received dated the 5/5/04 except that it contained a book of stamps.
I waited until after lunch and called Royal Mail yet again as I had not heard from Julie Ellis. I spoke with Jackie at Stoke on Trent, explained it all yet again and she told me that Julie Ellis was not even in work that day! So I was lied to when told she was at coffee break earlier that day then? However, I was also told that Olivia Bishop had worked for Royal Mail 'at some point' in their ‘White Mail team’ that deal with post only, but had left. When exactly did she leave I asked, since I had a letter from her dated 10/5/04 and today was only the 12/5/04! There was no answer to that one! I was promised that Julie would phone me back on the 13/5/04. Yeah, right! 13/5/04 came and went, as did the 14/5/04, no call.
By the 17/5/04 I still had not heard from Julie (Miss Marple) Ellis so I yet again telephoned Royal Mail. At 9.45am I got through to a Kit Simpson at Stoke on Trent and had to explain the whole saga of the missing letters/Olivia Bishop/Julie Ellis etc all over again! Kit tried to put me through to Salford and informed me that Olivia Bishop (letters signed by) worked evenings only! (Funny that I was told she didn’t work there at all!) Kit then told me that Julie Ellis didn’t start work until 10.30am but that a hand written note had been placed on her desk and she would telephone me as soon as she got in, yeah right!
By 2.45 pm Julie Ellis still had not returned my call(s) so I telephoned Royal Mail again and yes I had to go through the same old palaver again, who was I, references, explanations etc, etc. The lady I spoke to this time was called Lynsey at Stoke on Trent and she got on to Salford to ensure I spoke to Julie this time. Unfortunately Julie Ellis had gone home, without returning my call(s) AGAIN! Apparently she only works part time (10.30 to 2.30? Nice hours if you can get them!?) I asked Lynsey to put me onto a manager preferably at Salford, where Julie works but was put onto a manager at Stoke. His name was Hugh McGuire. I told Mr McGuire the whole saga and he listened patiently. Mr McGuire then told me that there were only two possible explanations, (1) the letters were delivered but no signature was obtained by the postman, how very convenient for the police! (2) The letters were completely lost. Mr McGuire said that the second option of both letters being lost was 'highly unlikely' and suggested I try special delivery next time instead! He thought that the letters had been delivered but no signature obtained, after all he surmised, police stations do get a lot of post!? I explained ‘fat lot of good that is when you are dealing with the police, now I have no proof they were ever delivered’
For anyone who still doubts that Dave’s every move, every call and every piece of mail is intercepted/bugged/recorded check out the documents below which confirm what I have stated above. I have also personally seen the bugs/listening devices removed from Dave’s house and car.
So just where are the letters I posted to Plumstead Police Station then?
