5th Sept 2004

Bowood House, Lord of the Manor, 18 hole golf course, Lake with pontoons and the biggest show in Wilts. Wow! what a great weekend we have had & all we can say is if you were not there we wish you were! We would like first of all say to Izzy Ozzy we missed you mate and hope the wife is feeling better very soon. Del-Boy-Dave & Helen put on a really wicked show with the lads from Maximum Leisure & Crimestoppers,  you have excelled all expectations well done, onwards & upwards to next season.

Kate, Ben & I woke up Sunday morning with an early morning call from DC. (he was only in the next room!) We had all stayed at the M4 Travel Lodge Nr Chippenham Saturday night, well that was a first! Dave went out Saturday night with most of the Maximum Leisure tour crew into Chippenham town centre and  they did not get home until about 4am. After breakfast we made our way to Bowood House for 10am, on arrival there was a  traffic queue half a mile back, but with a few back turns and a little bit of luck we did arrive only ten minutes late, not  bad really as some acts could not get there until after mid-day due to the popularity of this event. At one point there was a two hour queue to get in!

We were all surprised when we saw the size of the place with an expected audience of 20,000 plus. There were market stalls, funfair rides, bouncy castles, Helicopter flights, a huge stage and a whole day of acts, tribute bands and of course The cheeky Girls, Lamar & Ronnie Canada from the former Platters to name a few. Kate & Storm set up Dave's posters & books in the Crimestoppers marquee, the sun was hot and the place was buzzing. (see pictures below)
