The metal band Saliva (Josey Scott, vocals; Chris Dabaldo
& Wayne Swinny, guitars; Dave Novotny, bass; Paul Crosby, drums) hails from
Memphis, TN, where they formed in 1996. Their first shot at musical stardom came
the following year when they advanced to the final round of the 1997 Grammy
Showcase competition. After releasing their first album independently the same
year, the group was brought to the attention of Island Records by a local DJ.
The label signed them, and released their major label debut, Every Six
Seconds, in 2001. |
