The
following from rollingstone.com:
At first listen, P.O.D.'s music sounds similar to that of
Korn or Limp Bizkit - an amalgam of equal parts hardcore, metal and rap. What
differentiates Sonny (vocals), Marcos (guitar), Traa (bass) and Wuv (drums) is
the message of Christian morality and spirituality that their music carries, a
message that is often subtle but always present.
The band started in 1992, and developed a strong following, first in
their native San Diego and later nationwide, through relentless touring. They
released three records (now out of print) on the Rescue label before being
signed by Atlantic in 1998. Their Atlantic debut, The Fundamental Elements Of
Southtown, was released in 1999.
Following the release and subsequent commerical success of Southtown,
several of P.O.D.'s earlier albums, originally recorded for the Christian music
label Rescue Records, were re- released. Their second Atlantic album,
Satellite, came out in 2001. |
