Girl With No Future
She moves slowly through the ashes
In a dress once white
With no colour around her
Smoke turning day to night
Holding a small bear
Close to her heart
A toy worn and torn
Her tears begin to start
She moves slowly through the ashes
To where her home once stood
Why was man thinking –
Survive this they could?
That siren late at night
All knew what it meant
All running to hide
Bomb shelters they went
A blast so loud
And a light so bright
Turing all to ashes
And colours to white
So here she stood
Seeing no man or creature
All alone and crying
This girl with no future.
