Apple Suit Raises Suspicions.
Apple's lawsuit against ThinkSecret is a strategic but risky move designed to focus press attention on this week's Macworld, marketing experts say.
But the move -- carefully timed before the show -- could backfire if the Mac community judges Apple acted too harshly.
Last week, Apple filed suit against ThinkSecret for allegedly misappropriating trade secrets following a report about a $500 monitor-less iMac and new iWork software, a productivity suite to rival Microsoft's Office.
According to ThinkSecret, Apple's Steve Jobs will release the products -- and new, cheaper iPods -- during his Macworld keynote speech on Tuesday morning.
The stated aim of Apple's lawsuit was to identify the source of the leaks and obtain an injunction, but court papers confirmed parts of ThinkSecret's report, validating what many had considered speculative or unlikely.
Albert Muniz, a marketing professor at DePaul University and an expert in brand communities, said Apple should likely have waited until after Macworld to file suit, but rushed to court to purposely fuel the rumors.
"It's about generating more publicity," he said. "They have legitimate concerns about plugging leaks, but they're trying to generate more publicity. To quote P.T. Barnum, 'There's no such thing as bad press, as long as they spell your name right.'"

Welcome to a new edition of our web page, I hope you like this one much better than the last piece of shit that was on here, Any complaint about the use of language on this site please feel free to e-mail me, as I will completely disregard all hate mail and dispose of it in a manner that is not very pleasant to anyone. Anyway I hope you like it cuz you know how many cans of beer I could have drunk instead of making this page YOU HAVE NO IDEA :-).
As you can see me site is under slow constuction at the moment I will hopefully (if all goes to plan) be creating a forum for you to share those views and stuff, and then you could learn me a few tips and tricks while your at it.
I would also want to thank the people who, without their knowledge (obviously) make this web page a nice viewable one because without me stealing their pictures off the net, like we all do, there wouldn't be one like there is now. Ta
