Gathering the Dandelions
By: Allee
Barefooted, stepping in cool wet grass,
birds calling morning cheers,
sunshine touching, glowing, warming.
Yellow flowers sparkling dewy,
cows lowing, calves bawling,
breezes, bringing scents, whispering.
Gathering with joy, perfect blooms,
pail clanking on my knee,
Gram's call "Hurry before they dry."
In the kitchen warm and cozy,
the crocks waiting for my bounty.
Pouring in cold clear spring water
chanted prayers for success,
Love and magick, blending and bound.
