Collaring

Collaring will be done in the same sort of Turn Based (TB) role play as combat. It needs to establish how this will work here on Gor. Here in the Homestone Forum we will be using a Turn Based paragraph descriptive role-play system. However there will need to be some limits and rules added to this.

1.Each person will be allowed three attacks and two defenses per turn.

2.There will be no force posting in the sense that you will not be allowed to say how your attack affected the other combatant(s).

Example: "I put the collar around your neck and lock it."

3.Some places require that the words try, tried, or attempt be used. Here that is not required as we feel it detracts from the role-play.

4.Anything that you intend to use in a collaring attempt. Such as binding fiber, or a collar need to be stated in your profile otherwise it will not be recognized.

One thing that all using this style, or really any style for that matter, should know, is the fact that when attacking or defending, you should always role play CORRECTLY the "circumstances".

Example: If your hands have been tied behind your back, in your next line, you should always role-play something that shows you acknowledge what was done to your character. . If you are the attacker, as the attacker, you should always take into consideration "what" you are attacking, and "where" your opponent is at the time of your attack.

Example: If in your opponents last line, he/she "sunk into the floor", and never role played that he/she came up, you can't very well strike something that you do not see. Or, if in your opponents last line, he/she jumped up over your head and landed in a high tree branch, you can't very well strike him/her with your hand, or sword in hand, unless you also action first that maybe your character leaps up into the tree as well, or something of that nature.

It's all common sense really, and isn't hard to understand. What you should remember is that you are fighting someone else, you're not fighting yourself, therefore you are not at liberty to "do whatever you want", because "your" lines aren't the only lines involved.

Judging

In the case of a collaring judges should only be called into the matter if you truely dispute the collaring. Disputing the judges decision is probably not a good idea. As we are all human and angering the person who hold your Gorean Persona in the balance is probably not wise.

There will be three (3) judges. One brought by each person; the third judge will be a physician who has been trained for combat to act as an adivsor on injuries that may have occured during the collaring attmept in addition to being the neutral judge.

All judges should try to be as impartial as possible. The first two judges will try to come to an agreement between the two of them as to the out come of each round. If they can not agree with in two(2) minutes the third judge will step in. At which point the round is decided by majority (two(2) out of three(3) judges).
