Eowyn's Shield Maiden Gown

"I fear neither pain nor death."

Here are some pics of the current progress of my shieldmaiden dress. So far, I have made the chemise, overskirt and vest.

The chemise is made out of a cream colored sueded silk charmeuse, with pintucking and embroidery around the neckline. The overskirt and sleeves are made out of a paisley patterned silk jacquard that I tea-dyed (thanks for the help Rebecca!).

The vest I made out of dark brown micro-suede, which actually worked out quite well. I trimmed the neckline with antiqued gold braid trim from Europa Imports. The vest is still waiting for its sleeve caps and then I will begin work on the corset.

Dress minus sleeve caps and corset. The white t-shirt is there only to protect the silk from the duct tape on the dummy.
