Genetics II- What to do with those Green Peas

And now for the fun stuff! The Evil stuff… the stuff about… SCHWARTZ!  And all those other little Heralds running around. ^_^;;;. T* genes.  They’re really VERY common, but the fact they must be mixed with the less dispersed Q* genes, which have their own problems with Mendelian genetics, makes 43s rare.

A person with just T* gene is NOT a 43.

However, in some cases, merely having a T* will result in some kind of ability, usually that can not be controlled and is useless to occultists trying to take over the world.

There is NO connection between genetics and how powerful a psychic may become. It’s all random, except in the case of Vivians who may get a boost from their Q* genes, although this is not confirmed.

All T* genes are co-dominant. That means you can have more than one.

We’re not going to go into them ALL just the relevant ones

Read through the ones you fancy, when you fancy.  Or just move below this tacky, aqua line.

Below the Tacky, Purple Line

Some abilities can be honed with lessons, or even learned. There are two major learned abilities…

Aura sensing- This is one of those iffy things. It can’t exactly be TAUGHT, but 43s don’t seem to be able to do it unless told they can and the attempting it, after which it becomes automatic and they don’t remember learning it.

Teleporting- The opposite. Years of tedious training are required, but any 43 can theoretically learn to do it. Unless they’re telepathic, in which case, they simply help themselves to the memories involved. Needless to say, most people who can teleport are telepaths. The distance record for that? 2.32 miles, and Schu doesn't hold it.

Why Ken Isn't Psychic

Ken is essentially a low-tech genetic experiment on the part of Hidaka Shigure and Hidaka Hiharu, who actually WEREN’T trying to produce an Azriella, rather, a genius. Ken’s great-grandmother was a full Azriella precog, but her T* genes were only passed onto her daughter, Hiharu’s mother, and Hiharu. Also, Hiharu only had half the needed genetic material for a full Azriella, so she herself was not a 43, but had some powers.  Shigure also was a carrier of the Azriella, but did not have the full Q* or any T*.  By quirk of fate, Ken became an Azriella, but inherited no T*.

Chance of that happening- 12.5% or less.

Worth mentioning, the odds Ken WOULD be a 43- Less than 4%

Why Sei-chan Is

OK, maybe Ken took awhile, but Sei-chan won’t.  Sei-chan had a 50% chance of getting Megaera’s T*, and a 50% chance of getting Youji's Yuki-Onna

Odds of Sei-chan being a Telepath… 25%

As you can see, under normal circumstances, the odds of having a psychic child, even when both parents could theoretically produce one, are not great.

You know those tables? Here's another!

Saffie

(Pic Missing ;_;)

Yuki-Onna Telekinetic (Q*Y-TK) Augusta Precognitive
(Q*au-PC)
Morgana Telepath (Q*M-TP) Morgana-Vivian Telepath (Q*MV-TP)+

* Why doesn’t Farfie get to be on the pretty chart? ;_;
Because he isn’t psychic, he’s only a delusional schizophrenic.

+No one has ever don’t a genetic workup on Saffie, this is merely
what her brother lists her as. It kinda makes sense, and that’s scary.
