Albert Einstein and Isaac Newton

Two Great Minds, One Common Purpose

As my title states, these were two great minds with one common purpose. Even though they completed their work 200 years apart these two great scientists had the same common purpose: to further venture into the world of science. In a poll taken about the people who have most influenced life as we live today Newton and Einstein finished two, three respectively, both finishing ahead of Jesus Christ! This just goes to show how two men who lived in completely different eras could still be so alike.

Isaac Newton's time frame where he did his work was about 200 years before Einstein. In 1664 he began completing some of his best-known work. At this time the world was still being explored in order to find new lands. America had been around for a while at this time. In America at this time the first elementary schools were being established. This was due to the fact that pilgrims had been in America for thirty years or so by now. Also happening at about this time was the founding of New Orleans. This was a very important port city that is in modern day Louisiana. Overseas in Britain the British were welcoming their first prime minister into office. His name was Robert Walpole.

This was a time filled with much excitement for many countries because of the prospect of new land to be conquered. Countries such as Spain and Italy were established explorers who were beginning to find out where different places were in the world. Spain had already established claims in the Americas and were now bringing horses to America for the Native Americans. As you can see this was a busy time for the new world as they began to seek to find new places. Einstein began his famed work in 1905. He continued to produce great works until his death in 1955. This time frame is a little more recant and includes events such as WWI and WWII.

It also includes the making of the first car, the Wright brothers making their first flight, and of course the great depression. I won't go into much detail since much of this stuff you already know about. I will tell you though that Einstein wasn't just a spectator for all of these things. He worked very closely with the United States in making the first atomic bombs, which were dropped on Japan. Many people say that if Einstein had stayed in Europe, the Germans/Japanese/Italians would have won the war. Whatever the case both of these scientists made huge impacts on the world then and the world today.
