Welcome to the FRONT OFFICE, where you will read articles on the Wisconsin Wolves written and posted by General Manager, William Blandford.

2002 SEASON IN PROGRESS!!!

Wolves fans have to be excited about the play of their Wolves thus far. I know I am; I knew we had a better all-around team this season, but I didn't foresee us leading the division. Nice problem to have.

Out of the ordinary for me, I pulled a MAJOR deal, which I know you all are aware of. Parting with Dunn was no easy decision. Bloomington has been trying since the day the draft ended to acquire the slugger and finally made an offer I felt was unable to be rejected.

J.D. Drew is not a player without controversy, but he could be the piece that helps put us over the top. His talent is unquestionable, but we also went over the Wolves' character requirements. If he does not measure up to them, rest assured his stay in Wisconsin will be brief. Honestly, I don't foresee him leaving Wisconsin anytime soon ... at least based on his actions.

We added a great setup reliever in the deal with Jeff Nelson coming aboard. We can say we sport a Nelson-Nelson connection ... Nelson Cruz and Jeff Nelson.

Odalis Perez was a player I wanted to acquire in the draft and just missed out on. Southpaws are hard to gauge, and he does have a history of injuries. However, he has a good arm and has been healthy since his surgery a couple of years ago. He'll be in the Wolves' rotation next year, replacing Kevin Tapani, who is giving us one heck of a final season.

WOLVES' ALL STAR NOMINEES:

The Wolves have 6 players nominated for the All-Star Game:

1. Tino Martinez - 1B

2. Jimmy Rollins - SS

3. Chipper Jones - 3B

4. Wade Miller - SP

5. Mark Mulder - SP

6. Jason Isringhausen - RP

I want to give credit where credit is due. I may be the one drafting the talent and making the trades, but without the coaches below, this team would not be playing at the level they are.

WOLVES' COACHING STAFF

Eddie Murray - Manager

Jay Buhner - Hitting & Bench Coach

Dave Stewart - Pitching Coach

Dave Caddell - First Base Coach

Willie Randolph - Third Base Coach

Bryan Price - Bullpen Coach

This Wolves team has been as advertised thus far ... the best team Wisconsin has ever fielded, and we should continue to be a competitive franchise!

LET'S HOWL, WOLVES' FANS
