What About Gods?
So you're interested in learned, but do not understand how
we percieve the deities? That's ok, we all have to learn sometime.
Hopefully this short little page will give you a better basic understanding of it.
If you want more specific info on the Goddess or God aspects, click on the appropriate link at the bottom of this page.
Wiccans see that all things in nature have a duality, masculine and feminine, as everything was
created by both the Goddess and the God (Often reffered to as the lord and lady, though some wiccans object to it).
We see all the Goddesses as one goddess, and all the gods as one god.So why follow many different gods? Easy.
We see all the different deities as aspects of the god and goddess.
For example, Horus is the aspect of the sky, and protects those under him with a watchful eye,
Where as Anubis is the aspect of going from life to death, as part of the natural process of life.
Every other deity is likewise an aspect-some of these aspects have more in common with us than others.
For those among us who find a common ground and bond between themselves and a particular deity,
we often choose to honor these as our patron deities. Patron deities, normally a god and a goddess, are the ones
that wiccan works closely and the most often with, though we by no means work with them exculsively.
Well why break it down into aspects you ask? Again, easy. By breaking it down into
they're aspects, we can easily focus upon what we need.
For a comparison, It is like the links on a website-without the links,
it takes agood deal of time and energy to get what you need, and is more hassle than it is worth,
when you could easy just go to another page full of useful links that have the info you want.
