 In Celebration of the Awakened

To partake in merriment
and general good times;
All gathered in the courtyard
At six and one half chimes.

Festivity was in the air
A charming lilt of mood;
All behaved with great aplomb
Anticipating food.

Hearts indeed made merry
With courtesy forsworn;
Manners were the gracious dress
In which all were adorned.

And what richness abounded!
With fashionable care;
Some had donned their finest jewels
And braided up their hair.

But no one was expecting
A festive cake to dance;
But that it did, then settled
As if magically entranced.

Hearts soon took to laughter
As many grabbed a piece;
Grinning wide in wonder
At the frisky sugared feast.

A booming clap of thunder
Soon sounded out the call;
All eyes turned quicklyupward
While colors mused enthralled.

In greens and blues and yellowed
Kaleidosopic light;
From great exploding firesticks
That rained upon the night

We surveilled the skies intently
with rapt anticipation.
Parading light and color
In this joyous celebration.

As if that were not enough
Prince Bertram did appear,
All kneeled to hail the presence
Of his dashing charm and cheer.

Nobly he employed us
With honored warmth and grace;
The soft glow of the lighted
Night resting on his face.

Prince Bertram’s eyes then fell upon
Faer’s precious shadowed cloak.
Then the most amazing thing
To silence and evoke;

Without a word she offered it
In grace, as if to say;
Her heart would rather do without
To honor him this way.

We humbly thank Queen Vivienne
Her brilliant fantasy;
Too soon the evening ended,
But Oh! Sweet memories!
