As the leader of a band of street kids, Gunn wages his own war against vampires and serves as a modern-day Robin Hood to his fellow outcasts. Angel eventually wins Gunn's trust, but unfortunately not in time to save Allonna, Gunn's sister, from being turned and dusted. It is this loss that forces Gunn to question his own motives and to become more receptive to Angel's help. Later, Gunn proves to be a trustworthy and helpful partner to Angel in his fight against Wolfram & Hart. And although Gunn will never allow himself to become Angel's sidekick, he will be a useful ally in the forthcoming battles against good and evil.
