![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() This was the second F-Zero game to be released, and because of the N64's sheer power, it managed to come out as one of the fastest, most high-octane 3D racers in the world. Reaching speeds of over 1200 KM/H at the best of times, this was a real belter and damn hard to complete on Master. If you're looking for a fast and hard, yet great fun racer on the N64 then this is it! The F-Zero Grand Prix dates back to the 26th century. This grand race featured the most technological racing machines competing in several circuits (or cups) of fast-paced floating action. It was well known for it's wild fans and eccentric competitors. Winners of the Grand Prix received large sums of money and a great deal of prestige. Due to the large number of injured participants, the Grand Prix was canceled several years ago. The History of F-Zero It is said that F-Zero derives from the old F-1 Race of the 20th and 21st centuries and the F-Max Grand Prix of the 24th century. Over the years, races became influenced by wealthy ex-space merchants. They thought that a fast and violent race would be a great way to get people to gamble, so the ex-merchants established the F-Zero Execution Project. F-Zero Machines By using an opposing-gravity system called the "G-Diffuser System," these machines can drive at high speeds hovering just inches above the ground. Using their ultra-compact plasma engines, their maximum speeds can exceed the speed of sound. F-Zero Circuits Courses for F-Zero are set high above cities. Some cities have multiple circuits--circuits not used for the Grand Prix are open to pilots for practice. Excerpts taken from the Universal Encyclopedia. F-ZERO X GRAND PRIX OPENING NOTIFICATION Attention all F-Zero pilots: As you know, due to the many accidents and dangers involved, the Grand Prix was discontinued for several years. Thanks to the support of many fans, the race will continue! We have changed the competition's name to the F-Zero X GP and have revised the rules and regulations. Here's to the return of a great competition! We wish you all success. F-Zero X Execution Project
F-ZERO X |
![]() Captain Falcon He's back as a mid-range character. It seems that in X, Falcon seems to have a few rivals, the worst being the Black Shadow as he has two A's! Falcon's mid-range will give him advantages during the races as each one is significantly different. He's a well known bounty hunter as well as a great F-Zero pilot. Many mysteries surround Captain Falcon----the only thing we know is that he's from Port Town. |
![]() Samurai Goroh Pinkies back... He is so big an' mooscoolar! Yup, Goroh's back to whop Falcon's ass, and this time he's the strongest of all the starting racers (And alot of the later racers too) He's one of the best bounty hunters around and the leader of a group of space thieves. Goroh's reason for joining F-Zero is because of his hatred for Captain Falcon. |
![]() Pico Leonardo! Donatello! Michelangelo! Pico? Mutant boys back and this time he's a failry average racer. Not much to say about him other than he's been in F-Zero from the start. Pico used to work for a special unit of the Poripoto army. He's aggressive, but calm. Rumor has it that he is also an infamous hit man. |
![]() Dr Stuart Old and bald and crusty... He's again fairly weak in body and his grip's been put down to a low score, but to help him he has an A in his Boost. Which isn't all bad is it? He's been living in the fast lane as a doctor. Dr. Stewart became interested in the F-Zero X GP after the death of his father. The Golden Fox belonged to his father. |
![]() Jody Summer Rookie? She looks slightly older than she says she is... She's a normal-ish character. By sticking her as a trophy on Smash Bros Melee, it seems that the makers of this game (EAD) are trying to make her into the female mascot of F-Zero. Jody is one of the top rookie pilots in the circuit. While Jody doesn't have much experience, many see her as a dark horse. |
![]() Mighty Gazelle Ich bin einem robot und mein kopf ist kaputt! The crappest body ever! If you like to fling your body at walls then this guy will last you all of ten seconds. However, what he loses in body he makes up for on the other two... Three years ago, he was injured in a freak racing accident and miraculously survived. Due to the damage his body sustained, he became a cyborg. Others have tried to stop him from competing, but he is determined to win. |
![]() Baba Aww. How's my little boy then Baba Boo? Baba is a mug. Don't ask me why, but I hate him. He's just not really my kinda driver. Never-the-less, those who can get to grips as him will certainly find him a useful character. This young rookie has incredible intuition and is very flexible. After enduring a great deal of training, Baba will make his racing debut this season. |
![]() Octo Hey Octo! What are you going to do today? Variety comes in packs of eight... Other than a comedy impersonater of Kellog's own Octo, Octo is quite a nippy little driver. But be careful, if you're cars repaired he doesn't have fingers! (Jus' kidding) He represents the planet Takora, an enemy of the Milky Way Federation. Takorans are intent on showing their advanced intelligence to the universe. |
![]() Dr Clash He gonna go to the Porta-loo's and drop off soem Crazy Bears! Clash-in-the-pan's a very good driver for those who can cope without grip (i.e. ME!) and sohe can speed around the track with his advanced body and boost without fear. Those who are useless without grip, may find him power-sliding constantly. A former F-Zero engineer, it has been Dr. Clash's dream to become a pilot. He is participating in the race with a machine he designed and built himself. |
![]() Mr EAD What a poor plug from EAD... He's fat, he's crap (Statistically in comparrison to everyone!) and he's only doing this to sell Scampi! Really though, this is a guy for the experts as his poor everythign make racing a hard experience. This cyborg was developed by the mysterious development group EAD. His purpose for racing is to test his IQ and debug his man-made programming. |
![]() Bio-Rex I used to live in Jurrasic Park... After escaping Jurrasic Park, Mr Rex decided to enter the F-Zero races. He's a fairly average character which makes him perfect for beginners. This dinosaur is a product of bio-technology. Through this technology, his brain has become very similar to a human's. If he wins the Grand Prix, he will prove that he's superior to humans. |
![]() Billy Billy tha Kid! Billy is an odd-boy. Being an ape doesn't help racing so he ends up becoming as ape-ish as Falcon (i.e. very). Although he is an average character, he still posseses the qualities of a good racer. Billy is the first monkey to participate in F-Zero. He's out to prove that monkeys are the superior species. |
![]() Silver Neelsen The perfect character for a game. He'll have a heart-attack on the first corner! Despite being old, ol boy Neelsen still proves to be a great racer. Again, you need to be able to cope without grip. His stats match Blood Falcon's and are almost exactly the same as Dr Clash. Neelsen has participated in more Grand Prix races than anyone, but has yet to win. His age has drawn criticism. Because he is resentful of the newer machines, the other racers are avoiding him. |
![]() Gomar and Shioh Double-Tag Team! I say left and you say right... Other than snapping their vehicle into two halves, these two are the only paired racers in F-Zero. They are light, but can reach very good speeds because of this. These Furikake people always act as one person. They are a very strange race. While the rules don't allow pilots to use machines for two riders, they were approved by the committee. Their machine is the lightest in the circuit. |
![]() John Tanaka Reporting live from a race*Crashes and burns* Apparently protecting Jody, this mug thinks he's got what it takes to be in the F-Zero. He's got the same stats as Dr Stuart but seems a bit lighter. Tanaka, an engineer, and member of the Milky Way Federation, is supposed to be assisting Jody Summer. His concern for his colleague compelled him to join the Grand Prix. He seems to be more interested in protecting Jody Summer than winning the Grand Prix. |
![]() Mrs. Arrow She ain't the Super Hero! She'll get captured like Lois Lane! Mrs Arrow has the same stats as he husband, Super Arrow, albeit she has more experience. This doesn't really show in a race, of course, so she's the same as Super Arrow. Mrs. Arrow races with her husband Super Arrow. She's a good wife and team member. Actually, her racing experience makes her a better pilot than her husband. |
![]() Blood Falcon He drives a hoover, very orginal. He's basically Falcon but meant to be evil. Blood Falcon is basically the same as Silver Neelsen, albeit evil and younger. Created by Black Shadow, Blood Falcon is an exact duplicate of Captain Falcon. Well, almost. Blood Falcon is evil ---- very evil |
![]() Jack Levin Looks like the young Captain Kirk... Other than driving around shouting out 'Holy Astro-Cribbits Batman!', Jack Levin and the Astro Robin are fairly average. Jack's a favorite of the famale fans. Any merchandise with his face on it sells out immediately. While most people talk about his good looks and popularity, not too many people mention his racing skill. |
![]() James McCloud Fox's dad's a human (Sick inter-species-sex!)... James McCloud's an obvious rip-off of Fox McCloud's father, with his ship looking like an Arwing. Surprisingly though, his body's weak! Surely a space-fighter would have good shields/deflecters? James McCloud is a hired ranger, and the leader of Galaxy Dog. He remodeled his space fighter into an F-Zero machine. McCloud is in this Grand Prix for one reason ---- money. |
![]() Zoda Zoda? He looks like a Zora (Another cheap cash-in). This guys a basically average fighter no matter about his stats. On the other hand, beginners will find his weight too light and fast so he's more of an advanced medium. Zoda is the incarnation of evil and intent on conquering Earth. Why he's racing in the Grand Prix is still a mystery. His past disputes against the Arrows and Captain Falcon are well known. |
![]() Michael Chain A poor pun ogf Michael Caine, they were obviously out of ideas. Yup, another cash-in name but with a vehicle with Sonic-the-Hedgehog spikes. He's a nippy character with good body, but relatively average. He's the leader of the Bloody Chain gang. Michael participates in the Grand Prix to show off his driving skills to members of his gang. Since he rarely wins, members are slowly leaving the gang. |
![]() Super Arrow Tacky Super-Hero with wing-hat sold seperately. Other than being a stereotypical super-hero, Super-Arrow is nothing Super at all. He is exactly the same as his wife's vehicle but is still good for those people who were good as Mrs. Arrow. Super Arrow's job is to protect the Earth. When Super Arrow discovered that Zoda, his sworn enemy, had entered the Grand Prix, he entered as well. |
![]() Kate Alen Kate is a good racer, a little more than average, but isn't the best, she is slightly useless in some aspects though. This popular singer and dancer has decided to try her hand at racing. She will debut this season. |
![]() Roger Buster Could this be an original name!? Roger Buster is still fairly average compared to the other racers on offer. A useful choice at times, but no real advantage, since his body's knacker. Roger, a transportation guru, was supposed to transport a machine to an unknown participant. His partner persuaded him to abandon that idea and race for himself. |
![]() Leon Is he french? Probably not. Leon is a great character for those who require alot of grip to remain on track. Those who do not require grip will find him a real poor character, but that's pretty obvious. Compared to humans, Leon is not very bright. He makes up for it with his sharp reflexes and cornering ability. |
![]() Draq Looks like a vampire, smells like a fish... Draq isn't the best character on offer, and has very little but boost to keep him in check. Those who can't be without their precious boost will find him a useful player. Draq works with Roger Buster, and is a big fan of F-Zero. Driving in the Grand Prix has been his life-long dream. |
![]() Beastman Hersute? Cos' I'm a beastman. (Shining Force 2 plug). With nothing but a great grip behind him, this man's hardly the most useful character except for those that powerslide around every turn without it. When just a child, Beastman was nearly eaten by a giant alligator. Ever since then, he's been a slayer of beasts. Now he hopes to advertise his services in the Grand Prix. |
![]() Antonio Guster Goroh, Me was-a yer friend! For those that don't need grip, this guys a class act. He's also good for those who can do with low grip, but actually need something there to aid them. Antonio was once Goroh's right-hand man, but Goroh betrayed him. Now Antonio has joined the Grand Prix in hopes of exacting revenger on his former mentor. |
![]() Black Shadow The one Dreadknux calls, Victor Vasquez! With his purple cape and black get-up, Black Shadow is a mean character other than his evil appearance. He has the best Grip and Body but the worst Boost, those who need all but boost will be in their twinkle-zone with him, others will find him really good, but slightly disappointing. The King of Evil. Black Shadow strikes fear in the hearts of everyone. His goal is to destroy Captain Falcon in front of millions of viewers. |
![]() The Skull Where me 'ead son? With slightly poor grip, medium body and the best boost, this man's one for those who need an opposite to Black Shadow, but require a happy medium of Body and Grip. Skull was once a great legend among drivers. Using science and black magic, Skull returned from the grave to compete one more time. |
