Housing
- aquarium with a screen lid is best
- allow at least 10gal per trio
- females are social and can be housed in pairs or groups
- males are territorial but can usually be kept in pairs if introduced at a young age
- Bedding: aspen
- Accessories: wheel, tubes, hideaways, wood chew
Food
- mixture of a high quality rodent seed mix, parakeet seed and some kitten kibble
- allow free access to timothy hay
- offer fresh fruit or veggies and small millet once to twice weekly
Breeding
- Maturity: 4-5 weeks old
- Gestation: 18-20 days
- Litter size: 3-4
- young develop very quickly
- should be fully weaned by 3-4 weeks old
