By the fall of 2003 I realized that the original Catwoman costume I was wearing was 15 years old! It was made from a black Flexatard unitard. Classic unitards are not available at dance stores anymore, no one seems to wear them for dance or yoga. A unitard I bought online was too slick and flimsy. This left the option of sewing my own. The advantages were that I could select my own fabric and custom make it to fit me. A fabric store near my neighborhood had the perfect black metallic material.
After making a couple of Catwoman unitards it occurred to me that other people in this world might want to have one and that they could even be made in different colors. During the summer and early fall of 2004, I sewed about thirty of them in different colors for people here in the U.S., but also in Japan, Australia, and the United Kingdom. Besides basic "Black Beauty," sparkle pink and "deep amethyst" are the most popular colors. From there I branched out to leotards which also sell well but are not quite as profitable. The name of my company is "Luna's House." It is the nickname I gave my apartment because my princess white cat "Luna" rules here! Check out this movie of Luna and I together. All you have to do is click on the Catwoman picture below and it will launch the movie directly into your video player.
