Hi, my name is Jolene and thanks for visiting my site. Okay, so I am not really Julie Newmar's daughter, just a young authoress who is lucky enough to somewhat or strongly resemble her, depending on who you ask and what kind of a day I am having. My link to Julie began ten years ago, during Halloween, when I was trying to decide what to wear when my friends and I went to a street party in Dayton, Ohio. You may remember that "Batman Returns" was in theaters that summer and one of the hot costumes was "Catwoman." I had a black dancer's unitard but no hood like the one Michelle Pfeiffer wore. Instead I put on a glittery belt and cat ears with the unitard, got a whip from someplace and set out to have some fun. All night long people kept coming up to me and saying "My god, you look just like the Catwoman from the TV show!" After that night I sought out the Catwoman episodes from the Batman TV show. I would learn what a wonderful compliment it was to be compared to Julie and I decided to read more about her and view some of her other movies and television shows, both before and after her most famous role. It turned out that she had some fascinating qualities: lifelong student of the ballet, possessor of a near-genius I.Q. and a lively sense of humor, and quite active and involved in a variety of political interests. Through my reading I also learned of Julie's ideas for staying young, beautiful and healthy and got an inkling of her overall philosophies as well.
