The God & Goddess - ~*~Hidden Magick~*~

This is a page where the stories of the deities of Wicca are told. The witch's year celebrates the birth and death cycles of the deities we worship. The Sabbats celebrate the most defining days of the cycle. The Rites of each the Goddess and God tell the story of the year through whichever deity's eyes.

The Goddess

This is the Goddess of all things. She controls the cycles of power and all the elemental power on Earth comes from her. The Charge of the Goddess describes her relationship with her witches. It tells how she'll guide and protect you if you choose to let her. The words below tell her story and help explain the cycle of the year as well.

Listen to the words of the Great Mother:

She, who was of old also called among Mortals, Artemis, Astarte, Athene, Diane, Melusine, Aphrodite, Cerridwen, Dena, Arionrhod, Isis, Bride and by many other names:

Whenever ye have need of anything, once in the month and better it be when the moon is full, then ye assemble in some secret place and adore the spirit of me, who am Queen of all the witches.

There shall ye assemble, ye who are fain to learn all sorcery yet have not won its deepest secrets; to these will I teach things that are as yet unknown.

And ye shall be from slavery, and as a token that ye be really free. Ye shall be naked in your rite and ye shall dance, sing, feast, make music and love all in my praise. For mine is the ecstasy of thy spirit and mine also is joy upon earth, for my love is law unto all beings.

Keep pure your highest ideals; strive ever toward them, let naught stop you nor turn you aside, for mine is the secret door, which opens upon the door of youth. And mine is the cup of wine of Life and the Cauldron of Cerridew, which is the Holy Grail of Immortality.

I am the Gracious Goddess, who gives the gift of joy unto the hearts of men and women. Upon Earth I give knowledge of the spirit eternal and beyond death I give peace, Freedom and reunion with those who have gone before. Nor did I demand sacrifice, for behold, I am the Mother of all living and my love is poured out upon Earth.

Hear ye the words of the Star Goddess,

she in the dust of whose feet are the hosts of heaven,

whose body encircles the Universe...

I am the beauty of the green Earth,

and the white moon among the starts,

and the mysteries of the waters,

and the desire in the hearts of humans.

Call onto thy soul, arise and come unto me, for I am the soul of nature who gives life to the universe.

From me all things proceed and unto me all things must return. And before my face beloved of Gods and of humans, let thine innermost divine self be enfolded in the rapture of the infinite.

Let my worship be within the heart that doth rejoice, for behold, all acts of love and pleasure are my rituals and there for let there be beauty and strength, Power and Compassion, honor and humility, mirth and reverence with you. And thou, who thinkest to seek for me, know that the seeking and yearning shall avail thee not unless thou knowest the mystery: that if that which thou shall never find it without thee. For behold, I have been with thee from the beginning and I am that which is attained at the end of desire.

The God

Listen the words of the Great Father:

Who of old was called Osiris, Adonis, Zeus, Thor, Pan, Cernunnos, Herne, Lugh and by many other names:

"My Law is Harmony with all things. Mine is the secret that opens the gates of life And mine is the dish of salt of the earth That is the body of Cernunnos That is the eternal circle of rebirth. I give the knowledge of life everlasting, And beyond death I give the promise of regeneration and renewal.

I am the sacrifice, the father of all things, And my protection blankets the earth."

Hear the words of the dancing God, The music of whose laughter stirs the winds, Whose voice calls the seasons:

"I who am the Lord of the Hunt and the Power of the Light,

Sun among the clouds and the secret of the flame,

I call upon your bodies to arise and come unto me.

For I am the flesh of the earth and all it's beings.

Through me all things must die and with me are reborn.

Let my worship be in the body that sings,

For behold all acts of willing sacrifice are my rituals.

Let there be desire and fear, anger and weakness, Joy and peace, awe and longing within you. For these too are part of the mysteries found within yourself, within me,

All beginnings have endings, and all endings have beginnings."
